I made it to just shy of the stage 4 boss this last run - stage 4 is intense, thought the more I hit it, the smoother I think it will be, after I weathered the initial onslaught, it became much easier. Unfortunately I died on 2nd boss, bombed on stage 3 mid boss, died again on 3rd boss, and never had a great chain going.

New hi's:

30,382,273 - mjmjr25 - Stage 3 - Reco/N - 360/Maniac

If Mame scores are accepted:
94,546,144 - Shogun - Stage 3 - Reco - Mame/Original Black Label

I had a really good run after practicing for a bit and then it all fell apart really quick in stage 3.

I'm sure the OP could add in a high score table for MAME scores, but they can't be compared to the pcb/360 versions, as the slowdown emulation still needs a lot of work.

Yep even when using slowpoke Mame which gets about 60% of the slowdown right I'd say the game is still much faster. When I watch videos of the 360/Arcade version there is much more slowdown.

Yeah, the C&D of SH3-based emulation really put a halt on their progress.

If you were watching a video of the 360 port I'm sure the difference seemed massive, as that port actually has more slowdown than the pcb (Cave's only port to have more slowdown than in arcade iirc)

Hope no one minds me intruding on this thread. I thought maybe I should start posting some high-scores every now and again, even though they're never really anything remarkable.

I finally learned how the scoring in this game actually works as opposed to how I thought it did....
Ended up increasing my high score by 33% over what it was, so I'm pretty happy about that. It's really difficult for me to pay attention to which shot I need to be using while dodging bullets and shit, but I think it might also be a bit more fun.

It would have been nice if I had no-missed the second stage also, but I almost always die once either before the boss, or in his second stage. Once I hit the third stage on this run I got my ass handed to me and died three times before I even made it to the second light post. That stage is just murder on me. I have an easier time staying alive in stage 5.

You are not intruding at all, please post any scores you want to! WE all suck here

I assume that you were playing version 1.5 and not the Black Label DLC? That is a pretty dang nice start man, stage 3 is the wall in this game. Once I started making it through stage 3, I almost immediately started making it to the last boss.

I look forward to seeing more scores from you! As long as you are beating yourself (No not like that), then you are progressing!

one of my favorite things about these threads is that it keeps track of my scores. So if I stop playing a game and come back to it in a while, I kind of know what I need to do to catch up to where I was y'know?

Oops, yep. 1.5. (Edited.)
I guess I might just have to start training Stage 3.

I suppose if I start doing REALLY well, I might be able to 'beat' myself, in both senses, at the same time.

There is no table for ARRANGE mode, but I think it is best here than in it's own thread.

Anyways, I came back to this tonight and after 3 straight runs of 40mil, 4th stage on 1.5, I moved over to Arrange for the first time in prob 5-6 months.

1,135,365,515 - mjmjr25 - ALL - Arrange/Original-360
