I still need to chug along through it. I don't like how it starts at all, never a fan of this setup, but basically you play the beginning of one characters story and you have to do this for like 6 some characters or something, then they all eventually meet up and I hear it gets awesome from there on, but it takes several hours to clear all the beginnings probably.
Edward's beginning for instance was insanely boring, I just had auto battle on the entire time. But since there was still so many battles and a lot to run through it took an hour or something.
Didn't care for Interlude that much either, but since these just come with the awesome PSP release of FFIV, may as well grab that to play them.
Final Fantasy II - Like an old comfortable sweatshirt

I thought The After Years was episodic, but when I looked on the Wii Shop Channel, I only see one download for it (and not multiple episodes). Are all the episodes in that one download?

I really don't know now. But my understanding was that it was originally episodic.Ziggy587 wrote:I thought The After Years was episodic, but when I looked on the Wii Shop Channel, I only see one download for it (and not multiple episodes). Are all the episodes in that one download?

You get the episodes through the After Years program, like how you get the DLC through Mega Man 9 & 10, instead of the store.Ziggy587 wrote:I thought The After Years was episodic, but when I looked on the Wii Shop Channel, I only see one download for it (and not multiple episodes). The chapters are similar to how Dragon Quest IV works; you get a lead up with each character and then everyone comes together to kick ass together.

Lame.
I couldn't find the info on Google. After download it from the Wii Shop Channel for $10, how much does the rest of it cost?
edit: Nevermind. Looks like the entire package costs $32 after you download all the episodes.
I guess the PSP version is a much better buy. I'm assuming you can skip FF4 and go straight on to The After Years, correct? Maybe I'll pick it up, but it doesn't sound all that great from what I've been reading. I was more pumped up to play FF5 after I finish FF4 (which I'm almost done with).

I'm leveling up a little on the moon before I return to Earth to fight the Giant of Babil. I already have Excalibur, and I just beat Bahamut, so I think I'm in pretty good shape. I was thumbing through the strategy guide though, and the final dungeon looks a little daunting. Is it really hard, or on par with the rest of the game?

The final dungeon has several awesome weapons you can get through difficult boss fights and is long. I don't believe the actual encounters were too out of line with anything else in the game's progression. It was mostly the endurance factor.Ziggy587 wrote:I'm leveling up a little on the moon before I return to Earth to fight the Giant of Babil. I just started the last dungeon and fought the first mini boss for a super weapon. At least you can use exit. I don't mind exiting the dungeon after each mini boss encounter, healing, then returning. At the very least, I'll have more random encounters and thus level a little more as I progress through the dungeon. That's assuming I don't get to a point where exit no longer works.
