I kinda go back and forth on whether or not CS is a true sequel or just an update to CT.

yeah, me too. But the creator considers it a sequel, and really did say the next real game would be BlazBlue 3. And though I can't put my finger on it, CT and CS actually do feel different to me slightly.

Story wise it is an actual new game. So I'd say sequel.

I would say CS is definitely a true sequel. It's a very different game than the broken mess that CT was, balance-wise. There are lots of changes all over the place and quite a bit more content. Would have felt much more like a sequel if the DLC characters weren't DLC and had story modes though.

that being said, the jump from CT to CS Extend definitely feels like two separate games. Right?

With CSE it becomes like an extension because CSE includes all the CT stories. Best BB yet
