As if the DURR THREE DEE GWAFIX they tried to pull using the rather limited palette wasn't enough, the level design was horrible and often infuriating if I remember correctly. Also, was anyone else pissed when they saw the 3D area in Sonic Jam and yet we never got a real 3D Sonic game on the Saturn? Though I have to admit, I love both Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic R.
The lack of a full 3D Sonic game on Saturn is one of the 3 biggest reasons Saturn failed sales-wise.

I have, in fact, on a real SCD is the only place I've played it. I like it, but two things bug me: the music isn't CD quality, and it's terribly glitchy. I can't get past Starry Night Zone because I always end up running into the inside of this one wall, and I can't get out. Tried like 5 times, and I've given up. I'll give it another shot of Team Megamix publishes another less glitchy version of the game.

I think the Saturn was fairly successful in Japan however.

It was actually the most successful console for Sega in Japan. Neither the MegaDrive or Dreamcast sold as well there.

However, the lack of Sonic really did hurt the sales of the Saturn in the US market.

Yeah, no denying that.

Their and publishers failure to bring over 70% of the Saturn library over here probably had something to do with its "success" here, lol.

I believe abeaver's talking about Sonic Blast for the GG here not Sonic 3D Blast.

Well on another hand if there is one Sonic game I am very against, it's Sonic Spinball. That's one of those weird Genesis games to me that has a headache inducing soundtrack, visuals, and everything. The game just makes me literally feel kind of sick, even just thinking about it. So weird... but yeah, not a fan. lol

I KNOW THAT WALL. FUCK THAT WALL. It is passable, however. You just need to approach it really slowly so you don't shoot up the side and into the wall. Also, it runs much better on an emulator for some reason.

I don't hate Spinball that much, but I will agree that some of the music is horrid. I remember being like six and accidentally going to the options screen with the volume up on the TV. If ever there was a chiptune that would give you a heart attack and cause ear hemorrhaging at the same time, it was that one.

For anyone who doesn't know/remember, here:
For the full effect turn your speakers up to an ungodly level and enjoy. (Don't actually do that.)

That song really does perfectly sum up my thoughts on the game. :x
