Nope, its a jrpg, developed by From Software.

I haven't been around these forums much lately due to real life stuff. Super busy as of late. But I am really glad that people are playing and discussing this game.

As for me I just rang the second bell. Currently doing a half magic / half melee build. A tip for anyone struggling with blight town, you can skip pretty much all of it by heading through the Valley of Drakes (accessible through Darkroot Basin) to its rear entrance. Just inside is a key, swing back to the Valley and unlock the door to New Londo Ruins, you now have a shortcut directly from Firelink to Blight town.

From the back entrance to blight town head down the ladders and water wheel to the bottom. Then hug the left wall for a bit to find a bonfire. Hug the right wall to find the boss.
IS that what dunpeal was talking about? Because this doesn't play like any JRPG I played. When I think of JRPGs I think FF, DQ, PE, Persona, SMT, PS etc. Whilst I wouldn't say it's an outright WRPG (I think of Elder Scrolls, Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights etc) it does seem to have way more in common with the high fantasy setting and the whole dungeons and dragons thing.

Its a japanese take on a wrpg if that makes any sense.

Anyhoo I just beat sif and not sure what I feel like doing since I already drained new lando but I don't really feel like going to the depths right now. Think I'll go wonder places I shouldn't be yet for loot cakes.

I'm trying to forge queelags sword of fury and have a shimitar at +10 but none of the black smiths will make it. Who do I have too blow to get a sword around here?

The smith in Anor Londo is the one who can forge weapons from boss souls. After you ring both bells you do Sen's Fortress and then Anor Londo.

Because I thought it was funny and wanted to share. How many souls are required to absolve my sin?

It's so high that it'd be faster to just let the Darkmoon Convenant come and murder you repeatedly to bring your sin down.

So how far is everyone? I just have to get to gravelord nino nito whatever then it is off to end game for me. Any suggestions on where to grind before I go ng+? I'm just thinking the forest I guess.

It really sucks since I beat pinwheel awhile ago to have to go all the way through the catacombs then valley of the giants in the dark but I guess I'll just get that light spell.

I'm level 80 something just been pumping endurance and vitality. My STR & DEX are both at about 20. Quite the tank, havels armor, grass crest shield to off set the stamina recovery, queelags fury sword +5, lightening spear +5 & a talisman for healing.

I really wanna know what everyone else is using.

I'm in the middle of the fire area, just beat the fire Abyss Demon (can't remember his real name). I think I'm going to camp as a white soul for a while in front of the centipede and farm humanity so I can get the Solaire event for the last boss. I also did Catacombs but not Nito; those giant skeletons were just being too vicious.

Right now I've got my dex at 24 (I wanted to use the Dragonslayer spear but my phantom buddy killed Ornstein first), my endurance at 30 and my strength at 50. I'm rocking Havel's Armor, Havel's Shield, +5 lightning pike, and +5 lifehunter scythe, with a Havel's ring and the 20% end/hp/sta ring. And I've got a pyromancy flame in the off hand to cast the harden skin spell, which has been awesome for a few fights (like 4 kings).

As for farming souls, one really good spot is in Anor Londo. If you kill Gwynevere (one arrow will do the trick) then Anor Londo will turn dark, which removes most of the enemies but puts two people in the entrance leading up to the boss room, where the two royal knights used to be. They're fairly easy to kill and are worth 5000 souls each. The best way to farm them is warp to the Princess bonfire, rest there, go down, kill both, and then use a homeward bone. For some reason they don't respawn if you just rest at the bonefire, you gotta use the bone. Since you can buy bones for 800 and they're worth 10k you can quickly farm souls.

This. Thank you I just spent most of the night farming. I got more soul then a motown record now  I finished the game at level 100. Brought my STR & DEX up to 25 think I'm going to forge the dragon slayer spear when I get the chance then. I should have done more forging before end game but oh well.
