Mario and Luigi's last name is Gambino? Or is that an example that totally went over my head? The title does ignore Luigi completely. He was always the better brother. Call of Duty actually makes sense since it's a war game and stuff...

Granted I kinda like it because of how stupid it is; but good lord is that a weird, stupid and redundant name.

Nono, Gambino was just the first Italian last name that spring to mind. But for the title to make sense you would say Super *lastname* brothers. Not the first name of the first brother. Like saying Tom Bros instead of Smothers Brothers or Jake Brothers instead of Blues Brothers

While true, that doesn't make it a bad name. It actually loses the connection with Mario, then, the mascot that Nintendo pushed out there...and that paid off. In my opinion, that makes it a very good and successful name.

I thought that their names were Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. This is hard not to read as a joke, but I'm serious. I really thought that.
