Cookie, maybe you said it, but I may have missed it. What state were you in at the time? I don't believe you have to announce yourself if you feel that a person is a threat to you, your family, or your property here in Georgia and Alabama.
As for mine, I own a Ruger Security Six(.38 special revolver) and a Sig P226(9mm automatic). I want to pick up a Ruger LCR chambered in .357 for my next pistol.
Is there a gun thread?

Went to pawn shop to look at games, saw they had a Coldt 1911 22LR. They are only asking $360 for it (and they seem like a place that adds in wiggle room on the price). Anyone heard anything on these?
Pros
looks cool
chambered in 22 so I can afford to go to the range
threaded barrel accepts p22 suppressors
cons
not a "real" 1911
need to convince my wife i need this

^It depends. Do you plan on hunting/home defense? If so, I wouldn't get it. If you just want a gun for the range, then it should be fine.
I also just want to make sure what brand it is. Some of those "fake" 1911's can be really crappy.

GamerMON,
That's a licensed copy made by a company called UMAREX. They also happen to be the manufacturer of Walther's .22 pistols. Here's a review of the Colt .22 pistol:

I would pass on this one pal. Look for a Colt SAA or an actual Colt 1911.
