You can root for both, but you can't consider yourself a loyal Cub's fan, which in the past 100 years doesn't amount to much. All fine and well with me, but if you lived in Chicago, you have to pick a side.YoshiEgg25 wrote: I root for both the Cubs and White Sox. Why not? They only play each other six times a year. I don't see why that should invoke hatred.
Surprising game last night. Despite the stats, I wouldn't count the Rangers out, but I really don't have a dog in this fight other than Giants fans seem to be douchey.

Why? I consider myself a loyal Cubs fan because I root for them above all else. I hate the Astros and Cardinals with a passion. Although I also root for the White Sox, I don't hate the Twins and Tigers as much as the 'Stros and the Cards.Luke wrote:You can root for both, but you can't consider yourself a loyal Cub's fan, which in the past 100 years doesn't amount to much. I have enough Cubs shirts to fill a dresser drawer, including a jersey and two jersey shirts. I have 4-5 hats. I went to a game in April with my buddies and sat in the third row of the bleachers. I have a bat game-used by Derrek Lee. I don't have near that much White Sox stuff; two hats and a shirt maybe?
I don't know why I have to defend myself; if you met me, you'd probably see me decked out in Cubs gear as it's a quarter of my stuff.

Re: 2010 MLB Post Season
I'm speaking in respect to how other Cubs fans would view you. Loyalty is key, and rooting for the Sox goes against most everything loyal Cubs fans stand for. Hey, I'm a hockey fan who roots for three teams, considers myself a Blackhawks fan (plenty of sweaters to back that up), but if a Blackhawks-only fan called me out, I'd have to agree that I root for more than one tea,, which does diminish my loyalty.
Hey, it's nothing personal, I don't make the rules, but I'd say you are a fan of the Cubs and not a Cubs fan (semantics). Wear a Sox hat to a Cubs game, and the fans will say the same thing.

I would never do such a thing. I went to a Cubs-Sox game this year and was decked out in my Cubbies stuff.Luke wrote: Hey, it's nothing personal, I don't make the rules, but I'd say you are a fan of the Cubs and not a Cubs fan (semantics).
