I have both games but only want to start on one just before Halloween.

Which one would you guys recommend based on horror value?

oh man, the original condomned is an amazing horror title. The scares in there are truely terrifying. You have to play it to experience it. There are some definite Japanese horror influence in it. I have no idea why they changed the formula for the sequel, which wasn't nearly as good.

My Month of Horror has been pretty awesome so far! I started off playing Monster Mayhem on the iPhone. It's a castle defense game where you use various different guns and explosives to to defend a cemetery from zombies, vampires, mummies, and the like. The gameplay is simple and addictive and the creative boss fights are icing on the cake.

Finishing Monster Mayhem really got me in the mood to play and finish the similar Plants vs. Zombies on the iPhone. What else can be said about this game? It's hilarious and addictive, and the last few levels were simply epic.

On the console front, I convinced my younger sister to play through Dead Space: Extraction with me. We both loved the game! Not only was the game fun, but the story had us wanting to play non-stop. We did have trouble with a boss battle mid-way through the game, but after a few tries we figured out his pattern.

I just picked up Castlevania: Lords of Shadow last night, so I think that's next on my Halloween themed gaming binge.

Anyone think of some games that you could relate to Halloween without them being the VG equivalent of a slasher film?

For example, I'm thinking about Pocket Fighters. Darkstalkers and Red Earth characters aside, every character but Ryu has tons of costumes, ranging from themed costumes like nurses & maids to other Capcom characters. Just a thought.

I don't think costumes make something Halloween-esque, sorry.
