Sooooo, found the Crissogram(sp?) and holy cow, the best weapon in the game, easily, I have made it through the inverted castle in about two seconds-so easy, almost done!

Just now beat Castlevania, the story to this game is terrible! Most everything is is good though, challenging enough to make it worth playing, not too long of a game either. Overall the things I liked most was the music, the weapons, enemies, and exploring the castle. Once I was strong enough, the game was just me be-bopping around this Castle killing demons, which is awesome especially for a horror enthusiast like myself. Overall very glad to have finally beat my first Castlevania game ever, and the first game on my list this summer, I will be taking a break for a day or two, going to catch up on some movies I have recently bought, but I look forward to starting ICO, which will be great because I was a huge fan of Shadow of the Colossus, so I hope Ico does not disappoint

Overall for Castlevania SOTN, I will give the game a B+

Here's my list for the summer

Castlevania Sotn
Sonic 3
Super Mario sunshine
KotoR
Pokemon Sapphire
ICO
Zelda OOT
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario Rpg
Lost Vikings 2

This will help me work on the backlog.
Need to update my list. Caslevania SOTN is being scratched and being replaced with Yoshi's island.

I have the xbox arcade release
Since it's on the 360 it just doesn't feel proper for my summer to beat list
I have so many games that I have physical copies that need to be beat.

+ I suck at it

**Warning - Profanity ahead!**

So I picked up Ico again. And you know what - fuck Ico. Fuck him and that moron Yorda.

Look, the game is absolutely goddamn gorgeous, atmospheric, has wonderful art, etc, - but the core mechanics ARE NOT FUCKING FUN. Seriously, Ico is about the most worthless asshole of a character I've ever controlled in a game as he always flails about in vain to hit the demons, the puzzles often require you to hope that the extremely finicky controls register your presses correctly OR that Yorda somehow manages to not be a complete and total cunt when it comes to knowing where to go. The margin for error when pressing the use button in something so simple as lighting a torch is fucking maddening, let alone anything more complex like jumping, pushing, or pulling. I do understand why people think the game is great - the story is somewhat novel and the aesthetics of the game are all there - but the gameplay is NOT good.

I know GTA gets shat on for the hooker beatings, but I seriously have never enjoyed hitting a female character in a game quite like I do walloping Yor-duh. Based on what you all have said about length, I'm probably 1/3 of the way through so I'll persevere in that hopes that the story and setting eventually do enough to distract me from the shit-horrible mechanics.

I didn't really care much for SOTN either, aside from the music and the nice sprites! I hope that the rest of my list doesn't turn out for me like these two have...
