The 1998 restoration. I gather the other, studio butchered, versions aren't worth watchingOldSchoolBoy wrote:Which version did you see?
Heh, I don't know how others do it, but 6/10 would be above average for me.AppleQueso wrote:Man your reviews must work on a different bell curve than most _/10s because those are the most positive 6/10 reviews I've ever seen.
Why do they keep making them?Luke wrote:Only on a video game forum could you find people that like the Resident Evil movies.
They aren't horrible, really. As mindless action flicks - which is clearly the genre they belong to - you could do a lot worse. They are all about eye candy (cool explosions and effects, attractive actors and actresses, etc.)...the plot just needs to exist to move things along from one titillating moment to the next.Luke wrote:Only on a video game forum could you find people that like the Resident Evil movies.
I didn't think about it before, but I just recalled something... Most of the people I've known who are really into those movies are only vaguely aware that it has anything to do with a video game. Non video game fans seem to like them more than video game fans do.Luke wrote:Only on a video game forum could you find people that like the Resident Evil movies.
The problem is that video game fans (understandably) draw comparisons to the games. This is akin to judging a movie against the book on which it is based. The film will almost always fall short, unless you can learn to appreciate it on its own merits.AppleQueso wrote:I never actually watched any of them after the second one honestly.

I've only watched the first one and Apocalypse, and didn't find them to be mindless action flicks. Just mindless.dsheinem wrote:They aren't horrible, really.
