Ah, that's one I haven't played in awhile. Do you have it digitally from somewhere? Don't they package it to work with newer gear?

It's the GOG release, and it does work, it's just that depending on how the graphics engine is feeling and your particular card, some of the spell effects cause a freak out. Additionally, they don't package in things like the widescreen mod and the supporting mod that ups text size.

I hate dressing up. One of the perks of my job is being able to wear a polo with jeans every day. I find being comfortable is far more productive than looking dressed up.

See, to me it's not dressing up, it's just dressing. I'm more comfortable in a suit than looking like some a-hole that's off to the golf course or to a private school. Seriously, polos are the worst shirts ever. They look sloppier than t-shirts but cost three times as much. They're limp, terrible in quality, way overpriced (even the alligator is thinking "You're fucking kidding me right?") and the collars always look like shit. I have no idea why anyone who has vision and owns a mirror would ever even want to wear a polo. And the words "That's a sexy polo" have never left a woman's lips.

But let me tell you how I truly feel...

I quite like polos. And to be honest, I would tend to think a guy wearing a suit all the time to be more of the a-hole than a guy wearing casual clothing... my wife likes polos...

I only ever dress up for weddings, funerals, and interviews.

Whatever makes you comfortable. For me, polos are the exact opposite of being comfortable. In no way have I ever fancied myself as a playboy, but 007 and Bruce Wayne don't wear polos for a reason.

And while on the subject of suits, JOS A Bank has got to be the most ridiculous outfitter ever. "Buy ONE suit, get EIGHT FOR FREE!". They do have some super rope ties, suits, and socks, but their commercials always make them sound like they are having a going out of business sale.

I knew both Wayne and Bond have donned a polo and also knew a post like this was coming, but I think my point was made.

And Mustang kinda makes my point for me. It's like a t-shirt with a (shitty and flaccid) collar. For the price of a Lacoste polo you could buy a tailored shirt that isn't made in a Vietnamese sweat shop.

And for me it isn't about being "flashy", it's only about representing myself the way I would like others to see me. I think about the way my Father and his Father dressed, and even if they were going to a ball game, they still wanted to look professional. Not that they wouldn't slouch around the house in a stained Cubs t-shirt and jeans they could wade water in, but when they were out they wanted to look nice.

And not that polos don't look nice (that's not a back pedal) to some, to me polos are the minimum requirement for trying to look nice; a step above a t-shirt. You don't even have to iron most of 'em. I don't mind putting a little effort in to looking nice.

Lord knows my wife puts effort into looking nice everyday, might as well return the favor. That, and I'm a bit weird. I doubt most guys got excited that tie clips and argyle ties were back in fashion.

Terrified - I have to get a Cashiers Check for almost 40k. I hate cashiers checks since if I lose it, I just lost the money. So its going from the cashier, into my Bible, and thats going into my inner coat pocket and I wont move from the car until we get to the lawyers office.

Congrats man! Lots say home ownership is overrated, but it isn't. It is however a s#!t ton of maintenance and work. Plan on Youtubing "How to fix a ....." a lot. But definitely celebrate your first day in your knew home with something special.

Put that check in your wallet and keep it on you at all times. Hell, with a 40k cashiers check you may just want to staple it to a part of your body.


Smile: My friend who recently lost his Mother is fairing very well. I'm really proud of the guy as he's dealing with the point of time when all the phone calls and outpouring of support seems to cease.
