Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Found a bunch of Game Gear games. Don't have a whole lot of them, so I try to pick them up when I can find them and they're not sports games.
Desert Strike
Shinobi
Shinobi II: The Silent Fury
Jurassic Park
Revenge of Drancon
Ninja Gaiden
Super Monaco GP (Japanese Import)
G-Loc Air Battle (Japanese Import)
$3 each.

Not too shabby. The Shinobi games and Ninja Gaiden are ones that would have jumped out at me to grab. Never heard of Revenge of Drancon.

I have Ninja Gaiden, one of the four games I got with mine. It's different from the NES version (but just as frustrating). It's actually worth $15-$20, so you got a pretty good deal on it.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Okay, so I take back my Bad Deal Thread post about the $120 PS2. I went back to the thrift store just to see if they'd managed to sell the thing and lo, they'd decreased the price back down to $30....and it was half off electronics day....So I got another fat PS2 for $15 (It's either a spare or going to a friend, I haven't decided yet). I found the Persona 3 soundtrack in the disk drive when I went to the back of the store to see if it'd work. So, I'm correcting my previous post and can say that NOW I have a complete copy of Persona 3. (I knew I was missing something
)
Also, went to Play N' Trade and picked up an AV cord for the Genesis and I finally found a complete copy of Indigo Prophecy.

And so you can see I wasn't kidding about the $120 price tag at the thrift store:

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Those Genesis cables are horrible. I have the same exact ones. Very thin gauge wire. Looks/sounds alright on my CRT, but I'm afraid of wear and tare on the cable. Of course, if you hook it up and leave it alone, it'll probably be alright.
Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
^ I have a multi-A/V, S-video switcher, so it'll probably be fine. I knew when I bought it that it probably wasn't the best of quality, but it'll do for my purposes. Just really needed to replace the RF box. Thanks for the warning though.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
The jump from RF to composite on the Genesis really isn't anything to write home about. The Genesis has horribly blurry and washed composite video. At least you'll be getting stereo audio though, that'll be a huge plus.
PS, if you wanna read about S-Video on the Genesis, here's a recent thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33276
Basically, S-Video on the Genesis is absolutely amazing, but you have to modify the console to output S-Video. The good news is, most Genesis consoles use a video encoder that outputs S-Video. You just have to "hook it up" so to speak, so it's not that hard of a mod.
