How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
Went to my brothers house for dinner and seen a bag of n64 games and system. Looked thru a few titles and seen some snes games and a couple of snes pads. I was stocked and asked my brother where his snes was and dumb luck he broke his years ago and now just carts with no system. Nothing big or rare but star wars and extra innings were there and ms pac man and other games. nothing rare though.

Yeah, I haven't beaten Yoshi's Island either. That said, the only remaining game I have to beat on Super Mario All-Stars is The Lost Levels, which I find a little daunting.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I still haven't completed Yoshi's Island yet... I should get on that soon. I'm thinking of playing all four Super Mario All-Stars games, then Mario World, then Yoshi's Island.

Dude the SNES version of Lost Levels is really forgiving with continues. I believe that even if you reach Game Over you can continue on that very level. No, not the "world" but the level itself.
The original FDS game on the other hand is a total ball-buster.

Yeah, I figured as much. I had noticed that while tinkering around with that version of SMB3. I'll get around to it eventually(especially since it appears twice in my SNES collection). Maybe after Ogre Battle.

So you have Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario All-Stars & Super Mario World? Nice.
Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
Yoshi's Story wasn't even half as good as Yoshi's Island was.
Not to mention I think Yoshi's Island had at least 90 more levels.
I love it, but think I've only completed the whole game once. It's insanely long for a platformer haha.

Hey, 2003 was around the time my family got broadband and we were one of the higher-income families.Violent By Design wrote: Back in those days? You mean 2003?
I wouldn't do that unless you're absolutely compelled to play the games in order. I beat Yoshi's Island before any of the other Mario games due to it being the only one I had.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I still haven't completed Yoshi's Island yet... I should get on that soon. heh it wasn't until a year ago that my parents even got highspeed at home, they still can't get cable or DSL so they had to get this reciever on the roof so they are basically using 4G at home.

When I first started to beat the Mario games, I went in reverse order (somewhat). I beat these Mario games in this order:GSZX1337 wrote:I wouldn't do that unless you're absolutely compelled to play the games in order. 1. Super Mario World (also 1st video game ever beaten in my life)
2. Super Mario Bros 3 (Super Mario All-Stars)
3. Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
4. Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars)
5. Super Mario Bros 2 (NES)
6. Super Mario Bros (Super Mario All-Stars)
7. Super Mario Bros (NES)
8. Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels
I have beaten The Lost Levels but it was a pain in the ass despite the save function. Also I did that sometime in the mid-late 90s, and I haven't beaten it since. Unfortunately, that save file is no longer on my cart because like an idiot, one night sometime in 2012 (or 2013 I forget), I moved the cart in the system right when I turned the system on. AND OF COURSE I WAS DRINKING when that happened. The Lesson is....never drink and fiddle with game carts kids.
PS - I did start up a new Lost Levels save file after that initial drunken mistake. I'm at World 3-1 I think.
Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
Do you know the name of the original FDS version? Is it simply Super Mario Bros. 2? I have a ROM of something called something like "All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros." this or that. Is that it?BoneSnapDeez wrote:...Lost Levels...The original FDS game...
