Yes I know most people will likely have an HDMI capable TV that are interested, but wow. No Composite? That's really dumb IMHO, getting rid of the easy always compatible option. That further screws up being semi-portable.
This is another one of my big issues with the system. It also absolutely destroys the system for anyone with a component only HDTV which can be anything from 1999/2000-2009ish. This also makes a huge dent in the college gaming crowd too where craigslist TV finds and tiny or older sets which can lack HDMI are quite common. That doesn't even begin to factor in limited use college dorm internet speeds and bandwidth caps. Not to mention, DVI is not an option either thanks to the lack of any form of analog audio output. This will make it impossible to hear anything on an Analog AV receiver, of which there are still plenty being manufactured for entry level Hi-Fi, further limiting the market.
Sure there's devices like the HD-Fury to covert HDMI to analog, but those are expensive and niche, so I'm not sure why they would only be going for what seems to be the ultra-premium "upper middle class and higher" market the PS3 originally envisioned, and we all know how that turned out.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

How about converting it to VGA and using the audio from that:
I have used a dozen of this model with no issues whatsoever* over the past few years.
*I did fry one by using the wrong plug, but thats my bad.

Touche, but when you consider the general public if they even have to go online and start finding devices and guides for hooking the system up they'll pass on it. I've seen this so many times from the Gamecube/PS2 era to the PS3/360 generation, in everything from people not knowing what HDMI is to passing up even basic composite and buying a generic RF adapter just because they're used to hooking up consoles like that.
Until it's made in a first/third party accessory format that is sold in stores then adapters will most likely be limited to the online savvy and niche market.

STRENGTHS:
4k resolution
This won't be for game resolution unless they allow it for 2D things. It will be for menus and disc viewing mostly I imagine. I wonder how many think 3D games will use this?
Microsoft's marketing VP Yusuf Mehdi claims there's no hardware restrictions to keep people from developing games in this resolution. I realize that doesn't mean any games will actually use it, but they're going to put the blame on developers when it doesn't get utilized that way.
That said, even for menus, 3840×2160 is quite impressive. So I figured I'd keep it with the strengths.
So during the Ubisoft press conference, they talked about unveiling the RAving Rabbids interactive TV show on Nickolodean which works with your Kinect.
Kids can play minigames and follow onscreen cues to see reactions like screaming to make the TV screen break. and to shoot eggs that fly around on screen just by pointing at them.
There was a show that did this a long time ago. It was called Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future....it rocked...this? This seems weird. A normal TV show that has "minigames" that don't really do anything and really appeal to a very young audience. I guess its cool for Dora the Explorer, but do you really want kinect watching your kids...that's just....creepy.

Yeah but PCs running games with high settings where they look good costs thousands. Without water cooling and dual video cards, there's no way the XBone will be running games with lots of 3D complexity at that resolution. But I imagine that's what some non-tech savvy customers will think they they see that unqualified.
Back to the HDMI only thing. I'm not up on projectors, but have they had HDMI recently on them? Could be a headache for people running tournaments.
