I'll keep this post updated as it's early in the month that I'm posting.

So far, this month has been great. A friend of mine found a Super Nintendo at a yard sale with Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Gradius III. Complete with hookups and two controllers. He GAVE it to me, what an awesome dude. I've always wanted to have a SNES, and this one is perfect. It's slightly yellowed, so I'm going to try the H202 + Oxiclean trick and see how it works. But I'm ecstatic. The icing on the cake, is that my friend also taught English in Japan for a few years, where he met his wife through the same program. The two LOVE gashapons, and knew how big of a fan I was of SEGA. They included in the SNES gift four gashapons of the Sega History Collection, with tiny replica's of the SG-1000, Master System, Genesis, and Saturn. I'm only missing the Dreamcast, and the 32X/Sega CD. I'll definitely try and take some pictures for those that are interested. Anywho:

I am now the proud owner of a brand-new, black 3DS XL! So excited!

What's awesome, is that I bought it at Wal-Mart, because I had a measly little $10 Gift Card that I put towards it. Lucky for me, they had an unadvertised promotion that anyone that bought a 3DS XL today, got a free $50 Wal-Mart Gift Card! SCORE!

The games I got with it:

-The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds (the biggest reason I wanted a 3DS)
-New Super Mario Bros. 2
-Resident Evil: Revelations
-Super Mario 3D Land

And I plan on using the $50 gift card to order Scribblenauts Unlimited on Wal-Mart's website.

Either way, cool deal and a great surprise. The guy that rung me up in the electronics department acted all surprised and said he didn't know about it, which is why I assumed unadvertised.

I really want to wrap things up and post my final 2013 list, but I have eight video game related packages in transit. Plus I haven't seen for brother for X-Mas yet and I think he may have gotten me a game. Guess I'll wait until the 31st.

/first world problems

Acquired quite a few games this month, with christmas obviously helping bolster the tally.

Some stand outs are the lovely Neo Geo Pocket Colour my girlfriend got with six games: Metal Slug, Neo Turf Masters, Sonic Pocket Adventure, Dark Arms, Fatal Fury and Card Fighters Clash.

I treated myself to Dragon Warrior 3 (GBC), Doom 64 and the Phantasy Star Collection for saturn, with all the maps and inserts. Might be the only game I've ever bought for the packaging.

And I picked up Ys 1+2 in the steam sale and Ducktales, Brothers and Wolf Among Us on Xbox live. A good month and sets me up nicely for the year ahead.

I've been meaning to get that Saturn Phantasy Star Collection. Looks amazing. The PS2 Phantasy Star remakes look quite stellar too. So much Phantasy Star!

I'm still on a retro games compilation kick - got SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1 yesterday and Taito Legends 2 today.
