Played a little Secret of Mana, although I took a break to play beat Super Punch Out and play some other things as I was feeling it was getting a bit repetitive. Think I still have rather a long time to go :?

I just went through the Northtown Castle, got saved by King Truffle and got me a Flammie Drum, so now I guess I can go all over the shop. I'm going to some mountainy place next apparently, although as usual the game didn't bother explaining why. The fact that it explained where I have to go is surprising enough.

Figured I'd give an update on this since we're winding down on the time limit.

Since my ps3's hard drive has gone to shit, I lost my save files for Rayman and Fur Fighters, so I won't be completing those. I just can't be bothered to start over again. :?

I don't have the motivation at all for Harvest Moon or Resident Evil I'm afraid. I honestly feel content to let them go until I'm actually in the mood to give them the attention they deserve.

I intend to continue and beat Paper Mario.

So all said and done, by the end I'll be 6 out of 10.

I dunno about finishing Galaxy 2 or Prime 2 for this marathon, but I should have Secret of Mana polished off by the end of the month. I'll probably play the other two into next month if I don't finish them all.

On Secret of Mana, I now have 6 mana seeds sorted, and am on my way to the moon temple. How much longer do I have to go?

Quick question: Is maxing magic levels important? With 7 or 8 spells to get to level 8, i'm not sure i can be bothered. Would stopping at say, level 5 or 6 be ok for finishing the game?

Eh, level the magic to whatever you want. It's not super important to grind away with it to be honest. The Moon Palace is definitely pretty far into the game, so you have a few more dungeons left I think. Have fun with the final "palace" area, it's crazy. Also that segment of the game is incredibly epic...

Super Metroid (Super Nes) - Complete
Rayman (PS)
Harvest Moon (Super Nes)
Resident Evil Code Veronica (Dreamcast)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii) - Complete
Lightening Force (Genesis) - Complete
Paper Mario (N64)- Complete
Fur Fighters (PS2)
Phantasy Star (SMS) - Complete
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (PCE CD) - Complete

Finished off Paper Mario tonight. I quite enjoyed it, though I think both of the sequels are better.

Although, from what I heard years ago, I was expecting the final boss to be a challenge. It was long and drawn out, yes, but it was also surprisingly easy. Oh well.

So that's pretty much the conclusion for me. As I said before, I lost my save files for Rayman and Fur Fighters, and I just plain don't feel like playing Harvest Moon and Resident Evil, so with Paper Mario done, my Summer Challenge is "complete".

Granted, there's still a few days left in the month, plenty of time for Resident Evil at least, but I'm not planning on it. If anything changes, I'll mention it.

So with that said, how's everybody else doing? Getting close, or giving up? What's the story? Only 10 days left you know!

Hm, I assumed the challenge would end on September 1st.

Which means I was still off by a couple of days now that I think of it, but whatever.

Not in Australia. They don't go by equinoxes, but months. June 1st through August 31st is summer for them. Fortunately for me, I'm not Australian!
