I honestly don't enjoy their rudeness and automatically assuming stupidity of older audiences.

My mother is trying to jump into the world of games, (she's playing Pokemon Red, I'm so proud! ) and they almost laughed at her for asking about GBA games.

Funny, I was at Gamestop yesterday and the clerk was all sunshines and rainbows to this mom and child who were just "light" gamers. Then I walk up and pay my stuff, and he's glaring at me the whole time because I knew what I was talking about. Kind of opposite of what happened to your mom. :|

Some people like to be able to feel superior to others because of their knowledge, and you probably threatened his ability to do so. How can he show off his expertise to core gamers?

Walked into gamestop today to try and buy some PS2 games before they disappeared. Wanted to pick up the cheaper games like the final fantasy series and kingdom hearts. However, NONE of them had the damn case or manual. I did see nocturne though in extremely good condition but it was $35 dollars sigh.

They're evil for current gen games but here in Canada (Don't Know if it's different in the states) Almost all ps2 games are 2 dollars and Original Xbox games are a dollar each (Except for some they don't price like Ape Escape 3 which still is 40 at my local EB Games for some reason). And usually the people who work are nice. But they're a mix of both good and evil.

Ps: Is there a difference between EB and Gamestop?

Can't speak for The Great White North, but in the U.S. the only thing different about them is the name on the sign above the door.

I'm friends with an Indie store owner. He likes gamestop because He'll give more for trade and still sell for less than gamestop. With the store doing retro, as well as current stuff The gamestop in the area is not doing well. On a newer game(with no one-time use codes) he gives $25-$30 store credit and sells for $40-$45 the next day.
System collection: Genesis Model 2, Sega nomad, Sega CD model 2, Sega 32x, Saturn model 2, sega sports dreamcast, Game gear, Sega Pico, Sega master system(Bios v1.3), Neo geo Pockett color, Wonderswan B&W, DS, DSlite, PS3 80GB, Gamecube, ColecoVision, Xbox.

I could only dream of such a store. Our indie-stores (2 of them) give you bottom dollar and don't budge an inch when you try to haggle with them. They do give you a little more if you want store-credit rather than cash (which is usually what I do if I do trade anything in), but it's not a huge difference.

I once walked into one of them with a working Sega CD, the Model 2, with all the hook-ups, and the heat-shield included. They told me $5. I laughed at them, like literally out loud. They kicked me out.

I think he's bought a few at around $25, Which may seem low, but he has to make money. I have bought My complete Genesis tower(Model 2 genesis, Model 2 sega CD, and 32x) for $100. Rare and niche stuff he's sometimes not the biggest fan of. Sometimes It flies quick, Sometimes it sits there for 6 months. As far as cash goes, Unless it is rare or current-gen, Store credit only. All cash trade ins are Also 20% less. But he allows haggling to a reasonable degree(like trading in stuff towards a system can get a boost).
