You know, I've come to terms with the fact that I will never own an Amiga machine of any sort. They're far too rare and expensive to find here in North America, and if I were to buy one from Europe, where they are cheap and plentiful, the shipping costs would make it just as expensive.

I hear ya.

I added Amiga to my list of "given up on finding for a decent price" consoles a few months ago. It has company with the MSX, FM Towns Marty, and Vectrex.

Feel free to revoke my man card. I spent the last hour sewing back together my ruined pajama pants because I didn't want to spend money to buy another pair.

Nah. Similarly I went and bought the right color thread to fix a shirt recently as I didn't have anything 'close enough'. You're keeping up the fine tradition of wearing comfortable clothes until they're threadbare tatters with a waistband/collar.

Some things do need to go though. Pleated khakis or jeans? Yuck. Double breasted suits (maybe one day they'll be back in fashion), yuck. I try to keep on to my clothes as long as possible, but sometimes you need to let go.


My wife on the other hand donates clothes every season, sometimes without even wearing them. Drives me insane. Literally every season she donates at least a Hefty Bag full of clothes.

"This color is not in season", "ruffled collars aren't for the Fall", "Toms are played out" and so forth. Everytime I see a Zappos box at my front door I cringe knowing that the shoes will last at the most, four months.

It is important to look good, but Christ she goes overboard. She treats perfectly fine outfits like spoiled meat.
