Watched Prometheus again, just to be sure about not liking it. And honestly, I hate it even more now...

Something I didn't really notice the first time, but Noomi Rapace can't act for shit. I mean, none of her emotions seemed real. Just twisting your mouth and face does not generate a genuine emotion...

In fact, her acting in this movie was so bad, I don't even wanna check the original Girl with the Dragon tattoo anymore.

Just seeing her face makes me cringe now...

Almost forgot to mention this one (saw it before Expendables 2 last month)

The Soldier (1982)

It was a fine 80s Cold War paranoia action film. Many deaths in the first 5 minutes, a car jumping over the Berlin Wall, one hell of a ski-shootout, music by Tangerine Dream, and much more.

Very nice old school horror movie. Good storytelling. Good acting. Good dialogue. Good everything...

Pretty short (only 70 minutes) but that's all they needed to tell the story...

A fine little gem...

Watch it... ^^

I'm not a man of many words when it comes to these things. So I stole this review from IMDB.

It's just so spot on, and it might help convince you to watch this movie... ^^
Bloodwank wrote:A sure thing in cinema is rarely just that, especially in horror films. This is the case in The Devil's Business, in which veteran hit-man Mr. Pinner and his greenhorn associate Cully wait in the home of a target due to arrive later after attending an opera, Mr. Kist. It seems easy enough, but after the discovery of a devil worship altar in a shed things start to go pretty pear shaped and pretty soon the night is one of terror. I'm not usually drawn to horror films with criminal protagonists as the nature of their work immediately puts them at a remove from my natural sympathies. However writer/director Sean Hogan conducts things with great skill, drawing inspiration from theatre to make things instantly compelling. Pinter's The Dumb Waiter was apparently a source and the characters of Mr. Pinner and Cully come out and grow from their very first exchange of dialogue, on the one hand we have the old master, wise, cautious and with little time for any consideration other than making things go absolutely smoothly, and on the other the young man, the thug in training who tries to talk the talk but constantly reveals his inexperience. Billy Clarke is great as Mr Pinner, sharp, sarcastic and assured while Jack Gordon is equally good as Cully, clumsy, curious and eager he brings a naive likability to a role which in the wrong hands could grate. They share fine chemistry and so as events get out of control an impressive level of pathos emerges along with the suspense, one genuinely hopes these two will get away OK. Rounding things out Jonathan Hansler is suavely sinister as the classy Mr. Kist, while Harry Miller makes for a solid old school boss. The film makes good use of shadow and darkness, with good use of eerie blue twilight as well as rich red, and calm and controlled camera lets the actors and dialogue shine whilst milking the uneasy setting, a highlight scene involving Mr. Pinner recounting a scary story as the camera moves slowly on his increasingly strained face, much like watching an intense monologue from the front row of a theatre. Some may find the dialogue a bit overwritten but I really appreciated it, I thought it great to see a film where the writing is so integral. Towards the end things do get a little out of control with traditional grue and madness that doesn't sit so well with what has gone before but on the other hand its still pretty unnerving and it does bring a certain needed release, without sacrificing too much power. Basically I thought this was pretty excellent, highly recommended if you can dig horror with a slow burning fuse and lots of talk.

Look what she had to work with though. Would you put in a lot of effort into a movie where one of your actions is to put a head into a duffel bag? Even Joe Pesci didn't pull that off.

BLAZING SADDLES

It's been recorded that after a Mel Brooks premiere a woman scolded Brooks for making such a vulgar film. He famously responded "Lady, it rose below vulgarity". Fitting.

If you have sensitive ears, BLAZING SADDLES is not for you as it throws around the word Nigger like a Tarantino film throws around the word fuck. But if you can stomach that, you are in for a comedy classic with timeless performances.

BLAZING SADDLES isn't exactly the best put together movie, but it works nonetheless. I imagine that everyone involved in this picture, after each take asked "how can we make this funnier" simply because is is that funny. The film is full of gags, physical humor, and witty writing and performances (plus a man who coldcocks a horse).

Speaking of the performances, Gene Wilder is astounding, as usual. Unfortunately he's so good in everything it's difficult to say what movie is his best. But he is phenomenal in BLAZING SADDLES in every aspect, and at the end of the movie I felt even some sort of bond with Little and Wilder (as I usually do when viewing this movie).

The acting, the story, the comedy, and the entire movie stands the test of time.

I've seen that and Silent Movie + Young Frankenstein, but not Blazing Saddles. So far Spaceballs is my favorite.
