I was working on a prework for a client - complicated photoshoot. Fired it up randomly, found that in the middle of this national park there were thousands of pokestops and dozens of gyms. It was late Saturday night, so I threw my guys into any red gym I could. The level 9 gym with two cp3000+ dragonites in it, I left my CP22 beedrill. Well I am still in the three gyms today. Since it is a park in the middle of no where, there is a good chance I will be in those gyms for the week, on the weekend people go there to hike.

Loads of Skarmory, Yamas, and Urasing/Teddyursa.

I lost a handful of gyms over the weekend, which was the most activity I've seen in a while. I'm still in 14, but I hope not to go below 10!

Went away for the weekend, came back with several new catches:

Croconaw
Ledian
Ariados
Chinchou
Sudowoodo
Slugma
Octillery
Mantine
Houndour
Party Hat Pickachu

Also got a couple more due to hatches:
Misdreavus (2k egg)
Cleffa (5k egg)
Magby (5k egg)

I think with the addition of those last two, I've caught (hatched) all the baby Pokemon.

I also think it's safe to say that a lot of Pokemon have gone down an egg level. Not all of them, though. I still hatched a Dratini out of a 10k egg, so I know some of them are still the same.

I've got 3 10k eggs still waiting to hatch. I wonder what they'll be....

My current buddy Pokemon is Onix and I was lucky enough to pick up a Metal Coat this weekend. So as soon as I have enough candies, Steelix be mine. Someone had popped their Steelix into a Gym this weekend and I laughed when I noticed it's so big that it doesn't fit on the screen :P Though I am tempted to evolve one of my Scythers since I have ample candy for that. Decisions, decisions.

Oh, and I also caught two more Dittos. One was a Yanma, the other was a Magikarp (which I was a little peeved at, since I'm over half way to another Gyarados  ).

No offense but I can't say I feel sorry. My area isn't not conducive for getting a single gym let alone two and hoping to hold them for more than a 21 hour period. It's overly aggressive, not loaded with out of the way gym spots you can more easily hold with a crew or randomly good group. Those that tend to hold, you have a bunch of likely coiners who are all over 3000CP so you can't battle it let alone edge in even on the weak end with a 2000-2300-ish level creature.

I can't recall the last time I picked up 10coins so I'm kind of angry, depressed, and over it. If I didn't like the collection aspect and the Gen2 drop I'd probably quit since I won't pay to play so I can't get ahead.

Was away in a different city for the weekend to go to a friends wedding. Caught some new stuff whilst I was out there, plus caught some nice stuff today too.

Added to my Pokédex:
Azumarill (evolution)
Yanma
Ledyba
Qwilfish
Sudowoodo
Quagsire (evolution)
Muk (evolution)

Also caught a bunch of other nice stuff, lots of it with Pinap berries for extra evolution progress

Scyther x 2
Party hat Pikachu x 5
Chikorita
Hoppip x 4
Crobat
Sneasel x 4
Spinarak
Chinchou

Plus caught some rarer ones I didn't need but are still nice to find, and some are pretty strong too:
Geodude
Growlithe
Doduo
Diglett
Clefairy
Oddish
Machop
Octillery

I'm convinced Niantic have fucked up the catch rates on Octillery and Remoraid. I've now found 6 of the evolved pokémon, and not one of the unevolved

Nice catches you all. I missed a Marrill tonight myself, but that Corsola I got last week appraised VERY well.

I'm back at 15 gyms with my 2694 Vape 3rd from the top of a level 10. All is well.

Super jealous that you seem to able to catch 3 of the region exclusives. Apparently Corsola is only available in the tropics, and Heracross only in the south of the US down to South America, so I can get neither. Just more Mr. Mimes...

Hey, I don't have a Mr. Mime yet, or even a Tauros. There is an image going around of the imaginary "Tauros Line" which splits the state of Florida in half. Apparently I'm in the area south of that parallel, so that's why I've been unable to get a Tauros but I guess I'm in the Heracross zone. I haven't seen any concrete evidence of regional exclusives for Gen 2 yet. EDIT: Eurogamer seems to feel that Heracross and Corsola are Southern Hemisphere-specific! There's also an accurate image that correlates with the Eurogamer data that I'll put below.
Image
But Heracross *is* a fantastic Fighting Pokémon. Mine with Counter/Close Combat is at around 2200CP and it can take on Snorlax up to 2500CP with ease, but it's still important to dodge. I'm liking that the Mankey I walked became a Primeape with Close Combat, which according to Silph Road research is the highest DPS (damage per second) Fighting type attack currently in the game. Fighting types are becoming a viable counter against the Normal types, as they should!
