Is there only one type of Magic Key?
Whatever the case, I may check out the multicart. Could be fun!

well the description on the the converter from the neo store says "Does not support multicart" could be just a cover your ass kind of description because there are many multicarts out there.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Is there only one type of Magic Key?

Also, there's many different multicarts. I think it's the 120 that has a daughter board that has to connect to the jamma edge? That would clearly not work with any converter.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Looks to be a good reference thread here. Excellent work boys.
Re: Let's talk about your NEO GEO collecting + PRICE GUIDES
Finally took delivery of a few items that were bought from ebay but had to be sent on to me in China:
A boxed and complete PAL copy of Magical Drop Pocket was a great BIN find at under £40. I've seen it go for over £100 twice since I snapped it up.
The instruction manual seems to have some interesting translation quirks unless Death just happens to be rocking some moobs. (see below)
I also got a couple of loose carts. A spare copy of Last Blade for only £9.99 and my first NA cart Bust-A-Move pocket (if anyone remembers I discovered that the UK carts of Puzzle bobble Mini are nearly all corrupted, won't save and have other glitches). Thankfully I can now play this title properly.
Lastly I sourced a Powerpack/Wormlight combo. I'ts more of a collectors item and as yet I haven't been able to get it to work (due to a US plug and no stepdown converter) I wonder if it still holds a charge after all this time.

Alas the wormlight doesn't seem to work. It plugs into a battery pack that also powers the NGPC but which doesn't seem to want to hold a charge. The light comes on for a few seconds but then fades out
I guess that's the problem with a battery pack that uses 20 year old batteries!
Can't even return it since I'm now back in China with it so I guess I have a rare boxed accessory that's ultimately useless. Time to pursue that frontlit NGPC on Taobao after all...

Well I joined the neo-geo.com forums.
Maybe I'm going insane but the "Miscellaneous" subforum seems to vanish when I log in. Maybe I don't have "permissions" to view it yet?

2-part response coming...BoneSnapDeez wrote:Well I joined the neo-geo.com forums.

First - welcome...and...do a ton of reading. It is a very tight community and a lot of people get off on the wrong foot accidentally. You'll have friends over there though.
There is a ton of restriction due to cons and scammers - so site access is implemented slowly. If you "try" to view the market - it is a red flag and will slow the account approval process. I think it took Omerta like a month to get full site privileges.

Good luck. Considering the drama that just tried to come here to BST today and the fact I found this (unrelated idiocy) while curiously looking for the source of said drama, I wish you luck in wading through that shit. Yes I'm aware that the War Room stuff is some sort of corral for idiocy and such on top of that being really old posts, but that's some fine examples of humanity posting there, some with 10 year+ memberships that don't look like they are banned or anything to my untrained eye.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Well I joined the neo-geo.com forums.
