My want list is fairly slim now... I mostly want to upgrade those I have. For example, cart to cib, or upgrade the quality of my cib copy etc... I still have some games left over, but most of them are uncommon or rare and I would have to specifically look for em and pay top dollar.

Mid-month update. With pics!

Slowly chipping away at my SNES Want List. Got Ogre Battle just in time for Together RPG.

Knights of Xentar for the PC. I typically don't buy disc-only games, but I make an exception for DOS titles. Many of those "big boxes" have been discarded over time - and after failing to find a complete version of this game I settled simply for the disc (which was still quite hard to find!). I started playing this afternoon and I can't stop! Apparently the CD-ROM has voice-acting, which was never present in the abandonware download I'm used too (I'm guessing that's because it was the floppy version). This is a great gem of a 90s RPG every fan of the genre should experience.

Nice pick-ups, Bone! (I am glad to see you followed my advice and grabbed some cheap Wii games from Gamestop...your favorite store in the world!)

Also, I actually really enjoyed Rygar when I played through it on the PS2 several years ago. It has good graphics and art direction; it has numerous, fun boss fights; the combat and exploration are engaging; it is pretty short (so, the mechanics never grow old); the voice "acting" is incredibly bad, and the princess looks like a young Britney Spears (quite intentionally, I might add). I hope you enjoy it.

Yeah, I think Ogre Battle will be my next SNES purchase, to bring me up to 240. Some of you guys have way more disposable income for this kind of thing than I do...

Yeah they had some great Wii games at GS. I was pleasantly surprised. I may be heading back sometime next week.

I've actually been playing the arcade version of Rygar on Tecmo Classic Arcade. It's hard as hell - mainly because it doesn't allow for credit-feeding after certain point. Actually, most of the games on that collection don't, a Game Over is a true Game Over.

I actually have zero income (no job) so I can't impulse-buy like I use to. I generally shop for video games once every two weeks and rarely go over $100.

Not an exciting answer: eBay. In fact, three of the four SNES games are from eBay as well as Knights of Xentar - Breath of Fire II is from Amazon.

Nice little stack of NES games for 99 cents a pop! Thrift store:

River City Ransom
Rambo
Rescue Rangers
Firehawk
Gumshoe
Mappy Land
Joust
Al Unser Jr Turbo Racing
The Mafat Conspiracy

Oddly enough the lady at the counter said they put them out yesterday morning, someone bought a few, then one or two were sold to someone this morning. So odd. Number one I thought I might be without competition at this place, two why just a few? Three, I'd kill to know which games they were

I've been busy tonight with a couple of great compilations I just picked up.

Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded (PSP)
I bought this mainly to play 1943 Kai for Shmup of the Month. Was pleased to see it contains some other fantastic games like The King of Dragons, Knights of the Round, Vulgus, and three Ghosts 'n Goblins titles. I also discovered a great new shmup (Eco Fighters) and even a game named after a Racketboy member (Exed Exes).

Amiga Classix 4 (PC)
This European compilation is probably the dodgiest game of my whole collection. The legitimacy and legality of this title is questionable, to say the least. The disc is loaded up with an Amiga emulator, the kickstarter ROMs, and 127(!) games. Unfortunately, the emulator is outdated and wouldn't work with Windows 7. A download of the latest edition of WinUAE fixed that problem though (and a big thanks to whoever wrote the tutorial featured here on Racketboy). Another issue is that everything about these games is emulated - even the load times. Generally when I purchase a compilation I like to quickly "preview" everything, but with 127 games that each take about 5 minutes to start up that's proving to be impossible. Anyway, this disc will keep me busy for a long time. So many shmups too! 8)

This is one of those horseshit "new" compilations purchased from a UK seller, isn't it? Same crap as the arcade and PC DOS comps that are a load of bootleg crap.

It's German and actually in stock on Amazon right now.

Interestingly enough, there is a Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle rating on it. Still pretty sketchy though.
