Metroid was originally a disk game on the Famicom. The only reason the US got games with the adapters was that they were worried about having enough copies of launch games before Christmas so they whipped up the simple adapters and used the Japanese boards as that was faster and cheaper than making US boards. Since the game came out later and was converted from disk to cart with a password save, there are no adapters in Metroid carts, or any other silver NES carts for that matter. Only launch black label ones have a chance of having them.CRTGAMER wrote: Not a great deal, I was hoping Metroid had an Import adaptor. Funny happen to me, too. In my case it was a Gyromite, I actually opened it up today and was sad to discover no adapter. Oh well.Hobie-wan wrote:Metroid was originally a disk game on the Famicom. My, what a crappy gaming week. The only thing I managed to do was track down a new adapter for my extra SNES. I lucked out today and found a Genesis 2/Game Gear adapter. Same specs, so, yay. Cost me $0.50. BTW, I hate it when I find stuff like that and then no system/games, cause you just KNOW I probably missed something good by a matter of minutes. Oh well.
They did have an EGM magazine ($0.10) and two DVD's I thought were worth getting: Let Me In (still has the original mini comic book inside) and Hatchet 2. $2 each.
And I may not have found any games, but that same store had a freakin' Poke'-palooza. I got 2 sealed boxes of Action flips, 3 sealed boxes of Movie cards, 2 boxes of stickers, 1 box of temporary tattoos and a few extra various packs they had lying around. Behold:

Cost $12
Some of those things still have the original stickers on them. I can't believe someone marked those movie cards at over $70 a box. I know that was around the hight of the Pokemon craze, but dang.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
You guys might've remembered me asking about two boxed copies of Final Fantasy III and Super Metroid a while back. Well I went back to the store today, and both of the games were there but...
...Final Fantasy III's box was in pretty beat up condition, and the cartridge didn't look much better. It didn't include any manuals, maps, extras, or even the tray insert.
Super Metroid, on the other hand, had a so-so condition box, but when I opened it up I found that it didn't even have Super Metroid inside, instead a copy of Spider-Man/Venom Maximum Carnage.
So yeah, I passed on those.
I did end up getting this though:

I paid $50 for it. I know that's a bit high, even for a boxed one, but it was in excellent condition, was one of the few I've ever seen locally and I'd been wanting one for quite a while. I figure I can make up the cost via selling my old master system or something. I'm definitely happy with it.
