I tried to do it with one of the goron racecars, but someone pointed out the actual boats work far better. Just go grab a boat, put 4 balloons on it, use the leaf, then place 4 more balloons. If I get bored I will eventually fly one to Ganon.

so what tips can you throw at someone who has just started this game? I played 2-3 hours last night, and just let myself sort of blindly wander the plateau. Tackled two of the shrines so far. I feel like I can see some towers in the distance but not sure that they're accessible to me yet.

I read something about cooking hot food to fight cold areas? How would you know that in-game? Is it ever really revealed to you, or are you expected to just figure it out.

Have you spoken with the Old Man at all? If you head towards one of the shrines in the cold area you find him outside a cottage and he talks with you about cooking as well as having a recipe that has peppers in it and peppers growing outside the cottage.

Stark speaks the truth. Also, use the tower to scout the area out to find the two plateau shrines you missed. Also that cabin may also give you a hunt on a different way to suffer the cold.

Also.... another way..... which I won't say.

thanks guys. I'm aiming to play as FAQ-less as possible. It's got kind of that Skyrim-y open world that makes me kind of enjoy just roaming and not really knowing everything as I go.

Most of the cooking recipes are simple; a base ingredient will have an attribute listed on it, like Cold Resistance or +Damage. You can combine multiples with the same attribute to create food that has a stronger/longer one of those effects.

alright so finished up the other two shrines I needed to get off the plateau. Got two more towers to unlock some more map. Visited a town and did some exploring. This game is crazy good.

The game is fantastic! If the town you visited was Kakariko village get yourself the stealth armor. Forgot the name but that's my favorite armor for 95% of the game.

Not sure if you mentioned it but out of curiosity what system are you playing it on?

How did you handle the cold on the plateau?

That was the village I went to. That armor was like 600 rupees or something and I had like... 18. Do you only get $ from selling loot in this game?

Switch. I never owned a Wii U. In fact, I only bought a Switch because I wanted a solid portable gaming device. This is the first game I've gotten for it, and I'm pretty sure I've made a good decision with this purchase haha.

Cooked up mad chilies. Five of them granted me 12 mins or so, and I brought multiple meals just in case.
