Re: RPG Progress Report
Haha, sounds like we had similar college experiences. My PS1 RPG order was:noiseredux wrote:It wasn't my first RPG by a longshot. Wasn't even my first PS1 RPG (that was Suikoden). But I did spend a lot of time playing it in college. It was actually when I bought my second PS1 (or, rather it was a PSOne) and needed a single game to keep me busy for a while since I had pretty minimal disposable income.
1.) Suikoden
2.) Persona
3.) Final Fantasy VII

Re: RPG Progress Report
Wish I had played Persona back then.
I only had Suikoden cuz Babbages had it used for like $20 or something and I just wanted any new game to play haha.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I'm such a late bloomer.
Only thing I played on PS1 back in the day was International Track & Field.
I do recall being mesmerized/amazed by the Lunar packaging though.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Think it was Chrono Cross for me, first PS1 game I owned myself actually. From there it was FF7, FF9, and FF8 in that order.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Legend of the Dragoon was my first PS1 RPG. I was a late-comer to the PS1 party.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Beat the final main story boss in Atelier Totori Plus. It was actually pretty frustrating until I went back and crafted some better healing items. After that it was easy. Now to continue exploring and finish up the last 1 1/2 years of game time left.
Overall, a very fun game. It may not be the most challenging. The story is light. Not saving the world. Thankfully. Just trying to find Totori's mom. The characters are fun. Especially if you like quirky anime characters. Almost everyone is at least partially tsundere. It's pretty hilarious.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I'm pretty sure Final Fantasy 7 is the first RPG I ever played, and the funny thing is that I bought it with out knowing what it was as a kid. PAL version of the game didn't feature Cloud with a huge sword in the cover art, so I have no clue how I knew how to pick up the game. But I do recall being dissapointed because the combat was turn based and the character sprites looked like crap, I had something totally different in my mind.

Unless that is because you were too busy playing Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Planescape, Might and Magic and other such RPGs your PC (and PC gaming in general), that's unacceptable
Though you said in the SMT IV thread that it's second SMT game you've played, Persona 4 being the other
It was the golden age of Square RPGs, Capcom, Konami and other such Japanese developers and you were playing... a sports game?!BoneSnapDeez wrote: Only thing I played on PS1 back in the day was International Track & Field.![]()

Re: RPG Progress Report
Yeah, I guess I meant played and beat, whereas the above list I meant just played. I didn't play much of Persona at the time and just generally thought it was weird.Menegrothx wrote:Man you're a rare breed, some one who played Persona before it was coolStark wrote:My PS1 RPG order was:
