kelsoanim wrote:I picked up Genji after reading JT's thoughts on the game in this thread. I liked the game, it's a fun hack n slash action game. I have a soft spot for any action game that has collectible weapons and armor, and a leveling system. I had a great time hunting down and buying the latest gear for the two playable characters. The bullet time counter attack timing system was a lot of fun and addicting for me, though it might not appeal to everyone. I appreciated that the cutscenes were well done but not overly long for an action game. They tell you just what you need to know without dragging on. The game lasted me about 8 hours which is just right for an action game like this. All and all a fun game and a great value at the $2 (plus shipping) I paid for it on half.com.
Cool! I'm glad you liked it. I was just reading somewhere that Yoshitsune is considered the original pretty boy (bishonen) in Japan. I thought that was kind of funny. The story is based on The Tale of the Heike, which I'm considering reading now if I can find an English translation.
Man, I haven't been playing anything but Demon's Souls since my last update. I need to start something else! Oh well, Demon's Souls is fun and I almost have the platinum.
So far this year I have beaten Mario Galxy 2 100%, super mario bros. 2 on mario all-stars, final fantasy II 20TH anniversary edition on psp, and resident evil 1 for the gamecube

Hi, welcome to the community. Your list is small but REALLY diverse. What's next?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
1. Mercs (PS2) 2. Darkstalkers 3 (PS1) 3. House Of The Dead Overkill (Wii) 4. Mega Man 3 (PS2) 5. Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters (PS2) 6. Halo 2600 (Atari 2600) 7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game (NES) 8. Castlevania Chronicles (PS1) 9. Shadow Of The Colossus (PS2) 10. Capcom Vs. SNK Pro (PS1) 11. Capcom Vs. SNK 2: Mark Of The Millennium (PS2) 12. Super Street Fighter IV (PS3) 13. Mobile Light Force (PS1) 14. Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (PS3) 15. Galaga Arrangement (PSP) 16. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (PS3)
OK, so my initial impression of BlazBlue wasn't that great. Actually it was a lot like my initial impression of the Guilty Gear series. I figured it was just this really amazing LOOKING fighter that didn't play well to me. And really, in fairness, my complaint was more along the lines of "it doesn't feel like Capcom." And it doesn't. But once I got past that, I realized it's actually a pretty damn good game. I mean considering it's a whole new series -- its personality is impressive. In a sense, I'm pretty sure I like these characters MORE than the Guilty Gear ones. There's something very macabre yet cutesy about the whole game. I like that. So anyway, I had promised myself I'd run through Arcade Mode before deciding what I thought. And I'm glad I did. Once you start to get the hang of a character, shit gets better. Sure I still did SOME button mashing, but things were making way more sense. I was starting to get some combo's gong, etc. I'm kind of glad I grew to like it, too. Because really I just love the look of everything. I almost felt bad not liking it. Haha. Oh, and if you didn't know you can turn down the voice track in the Options menu. That helps a lot. I hated hearing "COUNTER!" over and over again. Though I did think "REBEL ONE!" was funny. So yeah. I'll end up keeping this one.

Now back to Mega Man X4.
LOL BlazBlue took me one sitting.
I'm playing MMX4 and Chrono Trigger currently. In MMX4 I flew through all the robot masters really fast, but I got stuck on the fight with Double. So I took a break since it was kind of break-neck how quickly I made it up to that point.
