Pretty spectacular, I saw it twice in the theaters.

hahaha I like when I hear this "foreign film" , its like "it came from the outer world" . Everything is foreign here, as a matter of fact you can hardly find something local
Haha fine, maybe foreign wasn't the best descriptor. But in the states, its seldom we get any international films unless they're blockbuster hits. Thankfully I have a theater here in town that does indie and foreign films pretty regularly.

Please provide me some good examples that we have received in theaters.

EDIT: It's not often that we get the opportunity to have international movies unless they are immensely successful in their country of origin. What also contributes to theater release is if the film has been Oscar nominated too.

THE RAID: REDEMPTION is a recent one I can think of.

Certainly a good movie, but 881 theatres in US and Canada wasn't exactly the wide-spread attention it deserved!

RAID, JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI, THE TURIN HORSE, BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD, THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETY, KLOWN, THE DO-DECA PENTATHLON, to name just a few off the top of my head.

Plenty of others. It's not that there aren't thousands of theaters playing international movies, it is that people don't seek out theaters playing international movies. Film festivals are everywhere, even small towns have independent theaters, and almost every single college campus has their own theater. I mean, RAID: THE REDEMPTION almost opened in ROCKY MOUNT, NC, the same day it was released in LA.

I think we're at a misunderstanding though, or my point didn't come off as I meant for it to. No doubt there's plenty of film festivals, and that there are independent theaters that you can seek out. But the bigger chains of theaters don't often carry these lesser-known movies. I don't think foreign films have as much commercial success in the states as many of the domestic films. However, maybe its just my taste but I enjoyed Beasts of the Southern Wild much more than the Amazing Spiderman.

I guess to rephrase my point is these films are often pigeon-holed into being indie or international films, getting screen-time only in independent theaters and not getting the attention they deserve. Injecting bias: It's much more enjoyable to watch something thought provoking rather than sit through Battleship.

I don't believe thought provoking is a requirement for something to be more enjoyable to watch than Battleship.

He's not Robocop, is he? I mean, I guess he could do it seeing him as Batman. But he's so old now.
