PFFFFFFAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It's only out of respect for this forum I didn't say everything I wanted to say.
Wow you are obnoxious and it is no wonder you get banned everywhere you go. His initial post about the system did not warrant your response and your rage. Keep it up though so racketboy forums can be the next stop on your list of banned communities.
Almost 85 pages of people complaining about a console they've never played. Or seen in person for that fact.
Reminds me of Steven Colbert's review of MAN OF STEEL:
"Let me tell you what I don't like about this movie that I haven't seen".
Can someone please shed some light on the positives of the xbone?
Will it let me get rid of my butthole of a cable provider (seriously, f--k you suddenlink)? On a groggy Sunday morning can I walk into my living room and simply say "xbox on, youtube ren and stimpy full episodes" and watch a cartoon without lifting a finger? Will I be able to beat NHL 2015 and say "post to facebook" and show the Blackhawks lifting the Cup? Can my Avatar actually be me, and not a cartoon me? Can I ask "xbox, ask if Paul C. wants to play SF2" and immediately "kinect" with a friend thousands of miles away?
There's a lot of stuff that I've heard about the xbone that I don't like, but jeez guys, don't forget that there might be some really ill s#it that the console can do.
I get where you are coming from... but this post expresses what most people have as an opinion currently.
brunoafh wrote:A good and unexpected post amidst the rage Luke, really, but for some of us the negatives overwhelmingly outweigh any potential positives. There are enough confirmed facts out there already, whether or not we have actually gotten a chance to use it (not to mention some people can't use it). No amount of voice control or cool features can make up for the terrible decisions that have been made, ranging from completely removing the right of ownership we have with the games we buy (not to come off as an entitled dick, but, I am of the opinion I should be entitled to what I buy) to alienating some gamers entirely with the Internet restrictions.
I also agree with brunoafh. The known bad aspects of the console have crossed over the line of anti-consumer nonsense that I'm willing to put up with. Even if people do figure out how to crack the console, I still wouldn't buy it. I do not want to support this shift in the game industry. MS won't notice my boycott, but at least I'll know I didn't help further the kind of policies I hate.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.
It is going to fail, it has been said that it is the anti gamer console if you can believe those words be in the same sentence.
Man, Microsoft really lost their way. I remember the original Xbox was targeted towards the "hardcore" gamer, then the Xbox 360 came out with the same intentions. It wasn't until the birth of the Kinect when they wanted to tap into the casual crowd like the Wii did and this, THIS is when Microsoft started losing their minds. If Sony doesn't do the same thing with their console than they have win the console war before it has even started. If they do follow in Microsoft's footsteps, than we can expect a 3rd video game crash. In a way I sort of want to see another crash. Maybe than companies will wake up and noticed what they have already done.

Actually, the idea of the Xbox being this all-in-one center-of-your-living-room box was in place from the beginning. The original Xbox was basically just a way to trojan horse the brand into people's homes.
The last time we had a game console made with the intention of being an all-in-one media center (and not simply a game system with extra media capabilities) we got the Cd-i. Just something to think about.
The comment about Xbox originally being targeted at "hardcore" gamers is interesting ... considering that Microsoft invented that divide to compete with Nintendo.
The only thing that existed prior was Sony's adult vs youth gaming sentiments. But even that wasn't designed to dichotomize video game audiences to the point of zealotry.
I feel confident in saying it's one of the worst things Microsoft has done to video games to date. All it did was create a fictional division of gamer type and introduce a new reason to alienate certain players. The only difference is that when they did it in combination with shifts from print to digital journalism we got an entire generation of "journalists" to adopt the whole scheme.
As a game player, I think that whole thing is rather disgusting.
And I agree that this type of system was always Microsoft's intention. It's how they've operated their business and platforms for decades, they're just moving the model from software to hardware. Introduce something no one likes in the interest of money, force them to use it until people defend it. Rinse and repeat. The only difference here is they don't have the market share in the console realm that they had in the PC realm.
The fact is, Microsoft is a company that doesn't know how to operate outside of a position of absolute power, simply because they have been in one for so long. They feel uneasy if they don't have a stranglehold over every market they compete in. Thus, they will use every underhanded controlling tactic they can to assure their position, or, at the very least, do what they can to ensure control the users they currently have. Ever since the rise of Apple and Google in the computer OS space and the meteoric rise to power that Nintendo saw this generation, Microsoft has clearly been basing their decisions primarily out of fear of losing that control. All of their devices have now adopted the Metro UI, not because it is the best fit for all of their devices, but so that Microsoft can force it on their users, get them used to it, and make it much more likely for them to simply continue using Microsoft products out of familiarity.
