Very possible for some of the more popular titles, but I've already noticed a lack of stock and many stores consolidating their Wii titles locally. There are three EB stores in the city I live in, and two have transferred all their Wii/PSP games to the third. It's more convenient if you're just looking for Wii games, but I think it's also a sign of things to come.TSTR wrote:It's an interesting thought, but I wonder if the backward compatibility of the WiiU will keep them around, much like DS titles.Retrogamer0001 wrote:Anyone else think it's safe to say that the Wii used-game market golden age is ending quickly? Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games?

Huh. There's like 7 GameStops around me, and they all still have Wii games.Retrogamer0001 wrote:Very possible for some of the more popular titles, but I've already noticed a lack of stock and many stores consolidating their Wii titles locally. Same(there's at least 6 in a decent radius, though I dare not try to attempt them all in a day since a good chunk of them involve driving in one direction about 10 or more miles before hitting the last one which with traffic here that seems to put a decent dent in my gas)....I attempted psp games but one has now shipped them out and the rest it's mostly disc only copies which I'm trying to pass up unless it's atlus or castlevania. Though I did pick up growlanser. But thankfully those who do have wii games have the covers still...thankfully. But yeah seems like psp(if they still have them) and wii are pretty good bets on decent deals right now at gamestops....Just wish the generic cases would stop popping up whenever I do visit

Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
@Retrogamer0001 My local GameStops still have Wii games, but they're not the cheap games. It's now exceedingly difficult to find those sub-$10 games in my area.
For every one $2 Zack and Wiki I find, there's 10 $20 copies of Resident Evil Wii games.
So, you may have a good point there.
I've noticed the GS in my area does this whenever a successor comes around. They did it to PSP games too. They'll put them on sale for 6 months, then just start shipping out the rest when they're below some price point.
Sure, game X might be a great price set by GS corporate ... but good luck finding it in any metro area.

Sad but true though change it to "in any area"Cronozilla wrote:Sure, game X might be a great price set by GS corporate ... but good luck finding it in any metro area.

No doubt. I'm thinking those RE games have to have a price cut coming. Who is buying those at $18.99?Cronozilla wrote: For every one $2 Zack and Wiki I find, there's 10 $20 copies of Resident Evil Wii games.

Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
What I usually see is them shipping it to a rural area that's about 50 miles from any metropolitan area.
I noticed it a lot when GameCube stuff was drying up. Things would slowly get pushed out of suburb, then urban areas. Until they were only available in completely rural locations, and then nowhere in my quadrant of the country.
@retrosportsgamer I used to really wait for the price I wanted. But I've noticed that what happens at GameStop is if they're not getting their price ... they will drop it ... but they'll also remove it from certain areas, entirely.
I recently just bit the bullet and paid for a few games I wanted for much less. But I did it because I got Buy 2 Get 1 with some cash off, so it wasn't as harsh.
But keeping all the games at $20 or $17 or something when they're still $20 new on Amazon, just pisses me off. Especially if they're pushing them out to areas you can't get to.

^ Good point about the B1G1.
With all the GameStop's in my area, while all have some library of Wii games, the ones with the most floor space seem to have the most (and their store manager takes a lot of pride in how clean and organized they are).

Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
I'm just hoping the pawnshops start dropping their prices soon. Would be nice to see them start transitioning towards the PS2/Xbox/GC prices in my area. Not enough people buying into the new generation yet though so it will probably be another year or two. Plus with the Wii-Us backwards compatibility it might take it even longer to drop due to more people hanging onto their games
.

Yeah I heard they just do photo copies also but I needsamsonlonghair wrote:I'd be careful about that.
