this was good, I dont watch alot of animes.

I have that bad boy on tape! the whole setup. In a nice box set. Its been years since I watched it. I do kinda want to get it on dvd again. If its at a nice price, just maybe.

Lodoss is one of those animes that led to the anime boom here in the states. For some people, its their first anime. Back then anime was only seen as a sci-fi/fantasy thing. Not much anime was seen back then, and this series along with others helped make it a little more mainstream.

Early anime [in the US]was either really sci-fi or heavy on the fantasy. Not like the current stuff now with lots of variety.

gotta salute the classics!
do you know of anything like it, I like robotech, pokemon, heroic legend of arislan, and thougt nadia was ok.

I still have my Lodoss War VHS tapes around here somewhere. Don't have a VCR anymore though.

Probably would be worth it to upgrade it to a DVD set I think.

Watching Texhnolyze and it's pretty nuts. Very unique series, I'm going to be curious to see what else this studio has done, as I've heard most of it is pretty surreal like Serial Experiments Lain. I plan on watching the first episode again after I finish the series to see if I can make sense of it, it made pretty much no sense and was just a string of bizarre imagery.

I love that show, too; I was recommended it after I finished watching Hetalia, and I am so glad I started watching it! :D

This series has a few years on it, you should be able to find for real cheap. There's the single volumes and probably thinpacks.

I ended up completing the last five volumes of Samurai 7 for about 15 bucks. I found them online for about $2-3 bucks each.

Texhnolyze is animated by Madhouse. They are well known for a pretty wide body of work. Satoshi Kon films. Nana. Trigun. Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Summer Wars. A lot of CLAMP works. The Tatami Galaxy. Kaiji. Black Lagoon. Etc.

You may be looking for works from the same creators? Haibane Renmei. Serial Experiments Lain. NieA 7. And Despera is on hold forever.

And other stuff with different character designs from some of the same creators. Ghost Hound. RahXephon. Hellsing. Shigurui.

Yeah, they're pretty cheap. I picked up the blu-ray set for $20.

To answer your question though:
The priestess got tricked/kidnapped. The two samurai who went to rescue her failed horribly. She escaped, was tracked down, and ultimately saved by Kanbei.
