Well, exactly. It kills the exploration aspect in my eyes.Hobie-wan wrote:You still get them from bosses, just no more shops.sabrage wrote:God damn it. I picked up The Binding of Isaac again on a whim, made it all the way to The Womb, and ended up wiping down there.

There are still hidden rooms which contain items, especially if you have Wrath of the Lamb. You can still collect and use money with beggars and slot machines to restore hearts and fill up on bombs and soul hearts. As far as I can tell you can actually have soul hearts beyond what fits in the display. I had one game that I got a ridiculous number of them on top of avoiding damage. When I got to a boss I was hit several times before I started losing them on screen.sabrage wrote:Well, exactly. It kills the exploration aspect in my eyes.

Well, I got pretty unlucky with the soul hearts. It just feels to me like the danger of exploring The Womb isn't offset by the potential rewards, and I should be going straight for the boss instead. Maybe that'll change when I pick up the DLC.Hobie-wan wrote:There are still hidden rooms which contain items, especially if you have Wrath of the Lamb. - Sonic Generations - Still pretty cool, but frustrating at times and I wanted more classic Sonic stages. lol
- Dark Souls - One of the best games I've played this gen, still working on it. Just hit Anor Londo, where people jokingly tell me "it's just getting started". heh...
- Fear 3 - Awful, probably can't stomach anymore after three levels.
- Shadows of the Damned - Eh... feeling very underwhelmed so far. It's definitely feeling way too much like Bayonetta for me (which I didn't like at all). Jr. high potty humor and interruptions throughout levels every few minutes, hot damn. I'll keep chugging along to see if it gets better...
- Vanquish - Knew I'd love it based off the demo and yeah. Shoot stuff, freaking epic bosses, etc. Simply awesome. Reminds me of the awesomeness of Lost Planet, one of Capcom's last really good games in my eyes.

I'm playin' The Grid! It's an addicting little retro strategy multiplayer game you can play in your web browser. It has elements of Risk, like taking over the board/screen, one square at a time, but you can also build up stats like gold, cities, farms, wizards, and become an overlord and rule forever - or play as a villain, wreaking havoc from the skies!

One Piece - Kaizoku Musou. This game is good but I have a few complaints, the AI controlled crew-members are way too weak, there was a boss which you had to fight with an A.I controlled Roronoa Zoro and it was really hard to keep him from getting his ass kicked, even though in the show he is really hard to knock down. The other thing is that the enemy pirate crews that you fight all look the same and they don't have unique personalities like in the show/comic, the buggy pirates and the franky family members in the game look exactly the same. Other than that it's a really fun game, you beat up huge hordes of enemies and the boss fights are for the most part enjoyable, and there's lots of unlockable stuff.
