understood. But I'm only 2/10ths of the way through by my estimation. Haha. I die A LOT.Xeogred wrote:@noise: The first MGS really isn't that long even if you're new to it, should only take you like 10-15 hours I'd say.

just got the time machine in Chrono Trigger. I had forgotten how ugly the anime was in this game.
But yeah, really making progress on CT today. I went from 9 hrs to about 12 now.

Like totally your opinion man.
Haha, I love the Dragon Ball / CT / Dragon Quest art. Even if it all looks the same.

I just dont think the anime style meshes well with the sprites.

The sprites are great, Akira Toriyama's art style... not so much. I don't like it at all.Xeogred wrote:Like totally your opinion man.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
Levelling magic in Secret of Mana really really sucks. It takes so long. It was ok for my first spell, because each summon at level 0 gains 8 exp. per spell (and I only had one summon to level). Now I have 4, and they can max out at level 3. At level 2, each summon gains 6 exp per spell, meaning i have to cast 18 times to level each of the 4 up, with each of my mages. Bear in mind that I can only cast about 8 spells before I have to go to an inn to restock mp, and the fact that having just gotten my 4th spell, he actually needs to be levelled 3 times >_<. I hear there are 7 summons and they level up 8 times each, at 1 exp a cast for the last level. thats 7 summons x 100 casts x 2 mages for my last level of magic 0_0
Even if I dont go all the way up with levelling magic, and only got for like level 6 (which i feel might be underlevelling it), thats still 3 exp per cast, needing about 33 casts per level x 5 summons x 2 casters. urgh.
Anyhow, I found some mushroom people and a baby dragon and now I'm looking for Santa because he's gone missing. Just beat a palette swap plant boss and then got salamando from the furnace.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
so I feel like for whatever reason I really like Chrono Trigger a lot more now that I've taken a break from it and picked it back up. I don't know. Like I had said before, it wasn't really clicking for me in the first 9 hours. I didn't dislike it, but didn't love it. At any rate, I think I just needed a break because I'm actually really really enjoying it now. Unless that just mean the game gets a lot better around hours 9-10.

I just finished the 2nd disc of FFVII today. I just may be able to get this game done before I start college!
