Huffington Post released a "Top 10 Most Dangerous College Campuses" without any qualifications.

VA Tech isn't on the list. I rest my case.

Has anyone been on an escalator lately? Do new buildings even install escalators? Is there any other hand railing on escalators other than the standard black rubber one? Is the escalator business falling on tough times? Why all of a sudden am I obsessed with escalator questions?

I actually edited that pun out of my op.

But if you are genuinely curious; I have no clue. I did watch MALLRATS a few weeks ago, that might have something to do with it.

Mallrats may have inspired that. There is something kinda special about going up an escalator. Kinda like a glass elevator.
On a side note, the shortest escalator I've taken (ridden?) was only 4 or 5 steps. Not the shortest (world record is 2 or 3) but still. The longest was about 4 or 5 stories going down to the subway.

As a kid I always loved the escalators that had the really bright green light shining between the steps. My Sister, a doctor who is 36, still has difficulties taking that last step off the escalator. I still think she's afraid of falling.

Glass Elevators are the best. Too bad the Sears Tower doesn't have one.

The Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids has an incredible glass elevator that moves at carnival ride speed. Love that place.
