Ever wonder what if a low scoring game was released in earlier generations, it would have probably got a complete 10/10 score

For example, Escape Dead Island received 5/10 on Gamespot, but what if was released on the N64? This makes me believe that good or bad is a relative thing when judging games.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

Call me crazy but I'm thinking of rounding out my collection of second-gen consoles.

This means I'd have to get the RCA Studio II, Bally Astrocade, and Emerson Arcadia 2001.

Any thoughts?

Skip the Arcadia 2001. Nothing about that system justifies its price. :lol:

I am of course, just kidding. I would not spend a lot of money on a unit if you decide to pick one up, however, and if you do get one, grab it bundled with a lot of games. (That is, as far as I can tell, the way most of them are sold.)

EDIT: Speaking of second generation consoles...I noticed that I need only six first-party games for the Atari 5200:
Ballblazer;
Gremlins;
Jungle Hunt;
Realsports Soccer;
Realsports Tennis; and
Rescue on Fractalus
...despite the fact that I do not actually own an Atari 5200. This fact makes me wonder which I will acquire first: a complete set of first-party Atari 5200 games or a working Atari 5200? :lol:

Actually the 5200 console itself is fairly reliable, it's the controllers that aren't. It goes without saying that pretty much all untested 5200 controllers will have some kind of issue and need to be rebuilt. It's not too hard, I've been able to bring several back to life just by cleaning the flex circuit inside and adding copper tape to the button contacts.

That's what I have read...

Are there any third-party 5200 controllers that hold up any better?

Coin Controls Competition Pro Joystick

You still have to use a 5200 controller for the numpad, but the CCCPJ is the only way to play 5200 games. Goodluck getting one for cheap though.

I accidentally clicked on a Shinobi 3 longplay youtube video and now can't stop it because the music is the best. Probably the most nostalgic Genesis game of my life.

Oh dang I got one of those when I picked up my 5200 a few years ago! Unfortunately, I still can't get it to turn on...

If Dr. Light had just agreed to work with Dr. Wily, he likely would have been able to influence Dr. Wily's global domination policies in such a way that life would have been pretty good for everyone - certainly better than the holocaust, plague, and devastation that visited the world in the form of Megaman X.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
