is RE4 your first RE game? What do you think of it? I wanted to play that game since like 2007 but I wanted to go through the series in sequence first.

I have purposely skipped reading your posts, so I won't read any spoilers. I think I will play it next after I complete AC II
I was actually saying some post back, when I started talking about Resident Evil games, I originally bought RE4 on the Wii when it first came out in 2007. At that time, I just wasn't able to get into the game. I was coming off of playing a lot of FPSers, and I couldn't stand 3rd person shooting games (mostly because of aiming). But as I got older, I guess I became open to more things and could appreciate more things. That being said, I had an absolute blast playing through the main game, and now I'm having a blast playing through the extra modes.

I'm not sure how important it is to play through the series in chronological order. RE4 was the first RE that I've played, and it was clear that I was missing some back stories to characters (Leon, the main character, was in RE2 IIRC) but I didn't feel like I was missing out at all. I just don't feel like the story is such an important part of the game. If anything, if I ever play RE2 maybe it'll be more interesting because I played RE4 first.

When working retail during the holidays, you get asked a lot of crazy questions. "Hi, I adopted a kid for christmas and their list only has one item on it. Do you have, Pokemon DragonBall 2?"

"Our church has this giving tree where we pick a card off the tree that has a gift a needy child wants. This 8 year old is looking for a, Diamond Good Smile Zelda?" (which is a Link Statue BTW.)

and my favorite non-videogame-related, "I'm looking for a portable radio for a 4 year old? I don't know why a 4 year old would want a radio, but whatever. Do you have one without an antenna, weighs about a pound and doesn't run on any batteries?"

And then the inevitable question if you're running front(especially true at HT no-lie) on thanksgiving(open till 2) and christmas eve(open to 6pm I think?) people calling like crazy every 5 minutes or so asking "Hey are you guys open?" -_- (no, that's why we answered  )

Switched my PS3 from HDMI to component today.

Can't tell the difference.

If the console you are using has a native HDMI port and you own a digital TV (LCD/OLED) with an HDMI input, you want to use HDMI anyway. If you use component in that situation you are introducing a digital to analog conversion output and then an analog to digital conversion input. You are also feeding an analog signal which is more prone to interference than an HDMI binary train. Thus the D/A-A-A\D situation offers more opportunities for pixel corruption than a purely digital HDMI signal (D-D-D). However, component is a good thing if you own a widescreen CRT HDTV and is proper for that instance.

Thanks for the info.

I'm using component because Rocksmith is a bastard.

But I can always switch back to HDMI for every other game.

Using that setup you'd also limit Blu-ray playback, if you use your PS3 for that - without the HDCP chain, by spec, it can only do up to 1080i and can't use lossless audio codecs.

It's not that component can't carry 1080p, it's that it isn't allowed to in that instance.

Tiberian Sun's cinematics make me sad. The first two C&C games had nice briefing cinematics, and then they fixed things in Red Alert 2, but Tib Sun has utterly horrible editing and flow. There are missions you finish successfully and then the next cinematic is "lol you're captured". Or a similar one where I finished a map with a hero unit and then next cinematic that hero unit is captured but no one else on the team is. And the cinematics start in right on the "action" with no lead in so it's like the game is force feeding you story with a fire hose.

StarCraft managed to pull off really great transitions between missions and briefings and missions; it's sad to see how bad Tib Sun is. I still have Firestorm to beat but I think I'm going to do a Red Alert 2 playthrough first.

Man so glad I listened to girlracer on that knack deal...somehow was able to get walmart to match it(pain in the rump though since I had to re-pull it up, show the lady, get customer service to verify it and finally get a guy to ring it up...took close to 45 minutes for the whole ordeal...I think this is why i never go in there unless I'm desperate) for that $10 price  Just don't know when I'll get to it but I will eventually(already played a demo in store awhile back so it's a $10 well spent)
