I can see the Gold Saucer turning people off. Its a kind of strange point in the game. It gets far better from there though IMO.Gnashvar wrote:It's funny but I can never get into FFVII, I don't know why. i actually popped in FF IV today - i have the chrono trigger/FFIV combo pack for the ps1 - but i only played probably 10 minutes and opted to try FFVII instead.
What RPG are you playing right now?

I'm clumsily juggling Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (PSP), Final Fantasy XIII (PS3), 3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3) and Cross Edge (PS3) at the same time...

Playing Terranigma for the first time. I'm enjoying it so far, it seems pretty cool.
I don't really like the sampling used for the music though.

What do you mean? Weird instruments or something? I know there were a few tracks that I thought were pretty bad, but when the music was good holy crap was it good, chills. Sacred Summit!brunoafh wrote:Playing Terranigma for the first time. I'm enjoying it so far, it seems pretty cool.

Definitely see it through to the end though, it is by far the most "cinematic experience" I've ever seen on the SNES. Not without its flaws, but wow... it's out there and pretty crazy later on. Quite an experience.
Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
So I started this back in January, played an hour, and then stopped to spend time on other things. I am now closer to three hours in after picking it back up this week and am still enjoying it a good deal and hope to devote some time to playing through to the end over the next week or two. About how long is an initial run through (with no guide)? Is there any disadvantage to increasing the battle speed option?dsheinem wrote:Chrono Trigger on the SNES for the first time ever. I'm one hour in and already am impressed by the look and especially the sound of the game - this is some seriously fine musical composition and audio chip wizardry!

Started Ys I for the PSP earlier this week and I am loving it. I missed this game when it came out the first few times, so this is my first play through. Love the gameplay and music.

Finally finished Paper Mario thousand year door. Thoughts on the games beaten thread. I'm done with RPGs for awhile.

Like most SNES RPG's it's not "too" long I'd say, you can probably clear it in 20-30 hours. Has a handful of various endings though and New Game +, so it can have some extra replay value too if you want more.dsheinem wrote:So I started this back in January, played an hour, and then stopped to spend time on other things. Cross is kind of the same length as well, which to me always felt short when most PSX RPG's were like 50+ hours, lol.

No, Cross was lots longer than Trigger. The fights especially took longer in Cross.Xeogred wrote:Like most SNES RPG's it's not "too" long I'd say, you can probably clear it in 20-30 hours.
