And some PC FPS games have dedicated buttons for leaning around corners, going from crouch to prone, going from running to walking or walking to crawling. Then you have your buttons that change primary weapons, buttons to change secondary weapons, buttons to select grenade types. Then you can have buttons for squad mate controls and vehicle controls. And on it goes. But really, most PC FPS games are the traditional WASD + Mouse and you're good to go.

If you want any recommendations for fantastic older PC FPS games I can give you some. It was my main genre for the years of 1995-2005.

Yeah, Exhuminator is my go-to source for recommendations from that era. I don't play many FPSs, so someone that's blazed through so many helps me narrow down my options if I get the itch to play one in the future. :)

IMO, unless you care about precision, most FPS games are perfectly fine with a controller. Hardly any have so many keyboard inputs that it can't be mapped.

word. I think I'm gonna continue on to Quake 4 for TR next. I'm guessing that's a bit more modern in design? Probably more akin to HL2?

Closer, yeah. It's more an updated Doom 3 than anything else.

You sound like someone who's never played online.

I think having to move your entire right hand to aim also adds to the immersion a little bit more then aiming with only your thumb.

Usually the steam collection(1-3 plus addons) drops to around at least $10 whenever they are doing sales. I think I got that set for around $5 a few Christmases ago during a flash sale.

Online is a place you care about precision.

Indeed, but what I don't understand is how you can go back to playing with mittens on after experiencing m+kb.

Choo choo...the pain train is a-coming, noise...
Relevant. It's totally dumb, but it never fails to give me a chuckle. Maybe it's the slow buildup to the payoff, but yeah.
