41. Tekken Tag Tournament PS2*new*

I'll spoiler the first 40 games from now on.

Every once in a while I like to clear my memory cards and re-beat the Tekken series to unlock all the character endings, and to also beat Tekken force. Tekken Tag is probably a better game (it certainly looks better than 3), but I find going through 3 to be more fun. 3 also has better endings as each character has their own music, and Gon's ending always cracks me up.

I have Tekken 4, 5, and 6, and I'm anxious to skip to 6 as I remember 4 or 5 being pretty lame.

A question about Tekken 6: I want to do the same with 6 as I did with 3 and Tag, but I don't know if you can just play arcade or time attack to unlock the endings and other characters. I think you have to play a campaign mode, which makes it seem like you can't go through the entire game in one sitting. Anyone know if any other mode besides Campaign unlocks endings and characters?

I seem to remember 5 being pretty good. 4 was the lame one.

Screw it. Tekken 4, 5, and 6 are all going down today. All endings will be unlocked, all side games will be crushed.

I hated the time limit on the Temple of the Ocean King, but other than that it was a fantastic Zelda experience. There was lots of fun side stuff to do, too.

I do wish they allowed an option for D-pad controls, but really, it's small complaint. Because the touch-screen controls do work quite well for this game.

42. Tekken 4 PS2 *new*
43. Tekken 5 PS2 *new*

Apple was right, 4 is the Tekken that isn't quite up to par. The Tekken force mode is better in Tekken 3. Tekken 5 is solid, so that makes up a bit for it.

Haven't completely finished Tekken 6 yet; so far I've unlocked a half dozen endings, and that's it. But! I'll have plenty of free time today to knock it out.

Tekken Tag Tourney 2 is probably the best in the series (I previously was partial to Tekken Tag Tourney 1 as the best), so you may want to pick that one up next 8)

Who is your go to character in these? Is it the same in each?

I'll definitely pick up Tekken Tag 2 when it reaches the $20 price point.

I'm beating each game with every character, so I don't have a go to character unless I'm playing force mode or "devil within". When playing Force I stick with Brian Fury.

I usually pick random when playing Tag with friends, but if money is involved, I'm going with Fury and Gun Jack. If I'm playing a single player mode, Xiaoyu is my go to. I kid you not, I'm lethal with her at my command.

She's not the only character with different fighting stances, but hers seem to confuse my opponents the most. Plus unlike the heavy hitters like Jack and Brian, Xiaoyu can frustrate the hell of you with jab after jab, shin kick after shin kick.

Dumb math says 90% of the games on my list take between 30-45 minutes to beat. Bayou Billy, Ghosts n' Goblins, Twisted Metal Black and a few others are exceptions, as is Kung-Fu which I beat in about seven minutes (possibly under seven minutes).

I probably game somewhere between 5-7 hours per week, which makes my total seem a bit on the low side.
