I always bought into the hype of how crappy this game is compared to its top down counterparts. Then I was surfing youtube and looking at some LttP hacks like Parallel Worlds and I saw a hack for Zelda II and got to thinking, the farthest I ever got in that game was past the first palace. So I popped it back in and have been sucked in for days.

The game is radically different in almost every way and I am really enjoying the difficulty level and the learning curve. It makes you think outside of the box like a lot of RPG based games do. I think I've died like 22 times already and I'm only on the 4th palace.

Super duper fun.
Indeed, I love the game. I play through it every so often. Well, play through it a loose term as I can always get to the final palace, but can never actually beat the final 2 bosses.

Never managed to finish it myself (got the 7th dungeon or something?), but yeah I love the game. Good to see it has some fans.

Playing through 3 different games at the moment, and playing some matches here and there on WWE Legends of Wrestlemania:

-Drakan: The Ancient Gates (PS2) - Great hack-n-slash action game with RPG-elements and a somewhat open-world. The graphics are a bit dated, but it's an earlier PS2 game, so it was good for the time. You have hack-n-slash levels where you kill goblins and trolls and such, search for gold and treasure, fight bosses, and level-up your character. There's towns and shops with NPCs to interact with. But the hook of this game is the ability to control a dragon, as well, which you can use to reign down destruction upon your enemies.

-Rayman: Origins (Wii) - Oh man, this game is so much fun. It's takes me back to the days of getting a new 2D Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog game. And the graphics are beautiful, even though it is only 2D. This should definelty be on the wishlist of ANY gamer that into platformers, artistic games, or old-school games.

-Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA) - It's post-Symphony of the Night 2D Castlevania, but on-the-go. Nothing here you haven't seen before. But that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing!

-WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania (XBox 360) - Man, this game is a ton of fun simply for it's nostalgic value. Any fans of the WWF (that's right, WW"F") of old, will get a kick out of this game. Mix it up with some of the greatest wrestlers of all-time and in some of the greatest moments in wrestling history in this game. And with some pretty impressive graphics.

I have painful memories of trying to beat the boss rush mode in this game. Don't think I ever did, stupid Legion.

Still hooked on Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition and as a Vega player I get a lot of trash talk from players talking about how I'm running away. Not my fault Vega's low tier, I gotta play to his strengths.

Vega in cool alternate costume :) <-- Probably the reason alone why I'm so addicted is because the character looks awesome, I need to start looking for an alternate to learn to play as. I like to learn a female character, but not sure which one would be interesting between Crimson Viper, Chun Li, or Juri

Played Street Fighter x Tekken and when I did, I immediately went back to playing Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. Performing the links in SFxT felt uncomfortable to me for some reason and all those variables in the game make the game feel rushed like they didn't want to take the time to polish everything to make the game feel balanced where SSFIV AE feels the balance.

Like me for instance, playing a low tier guy like Vega ( or said to be low tier since he's tough as heck to master ) and fighting people who are rank A against good tourney opponents like Crimson Viper and doing a decent job against an A+ Gouken ( though losing in a pretty close one ) When I see SFxT I don't see very many Yoshimisu or Mega Man / PacMan players in the higher ranks. If I ever decide to muster up the feeling of wanting to play SFxT again I'll probably try a Vega / Chun Li build or Vega / Juri

Headhunter Dreamcast Which is a pretty badass game I found recently. Also been on a marvel vs. capcom 3 kick and I love it. People complain about thins game yet it's just as good as the other one's people are so whinny these days

I've been playing Rhythm Paradise, both on the DS and the Wii.

On the DS game, I'm trying to prefect every level, and I have 7 more to go. Unfortunately, they're really hard. For anyone wanting to know, the 7 missions left are Remix 3, Remix 6, Rhythm Rally 2, Blue Birds 2, Remix 8, Moai Doo-Wop 2 and Remix 10. I've come close on Remix 8 and Rhythm Rally a few times now. Moai DooWop and Blue Birds feel within my grasp too, but the remainign remixes are causing me no end of trouble. I've stopped playing for now because it was driving me crazy

Instead, I've been playing the Wii sequel which came out here Friday. ATM, I have 47/50 medals, and 24/50 perfects. This game generally seems easier, so maybe getting all the perfects here won't be so bad? On the other hand, there are still one or two games, such as Love Rap and Donk-Donk which are gonna be problems I reckon.

What I haven't been playing, and really should, are my summer marathon games. I dunno what it is about Grim Fandango, but as good as it is, I just haven't been in the mood to play it at all.

Did a character run through on Street Fighter II on the snes last night. Zangief definitely has the best ending.

Plan on playing Castlevania Adventure on the Super Game Boy today, and hopefully beating it.
