Indeed, once you get out of the Dwarven area there's not that much backtracking from there on. You've got PLENTY of temples to hit up and damn they're all epic.
Also maybe obvious but make sure your AI characters aren't set to charge up much, if at all. It's kind of a waste for them and it should just be your controlled player dealing those hard hits. Least that's always been the better strategy for me, half the time the AI misses so it's kind of pointless.

Is it bad that I'm playing through FFVII using only Cloud, Yuffie, and Vincent?

My team was Cloud, Cid and Vincent when I beat it last year. I haven't used Yuffie much but you should totally do her big side quest in Wutai (not sure about spelling). I think you can do the quest on disc 2 or 3 but I don't remember. You get a water summon but you have to do a bunch of solo fights with just Yuffie.

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
I'm playing Secret of Mana, but my game time is being eaten up by my job applications and the fact that I'm back living at my girlfriends parents house for now. I can't wait to be working and living at my own place, I can't stand all this applying nonsense!
Anyhow, on Secret of Mana I just got to the Upper land and found some moogles displaced from their homes. The game is SO much easier since I got magic, that tiger boss was pretty crazy considering I had no healing spell. Now I barely ever seem to have trouble with anything.
I found out something about going to find 8 temples or something. This game isn't very clearly signposted. Normally you get one offhand comment about something you'll have to do, but its never clear if thats your next task, or something down the line. Often I forget what was said anyway, its so offhand. Still, the game isn't as bad as I first thought.
I haven't progressed any further in Mario Galaxy, nor have I started Metroid Prime 2. To be honest, I'm not in the mood for that kinda game, I'm in a really retro kinda mood. I might break out my Master System for a while to satisfy my 8 bit tendencies before I move on to those.
Anyone got any ideas how long Secret of Mana is?

You've made some good progress in SoM, I'd say it's probably a good 20 hours or so long.

Mario Galaxy totally derailed my game challenge.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Link to the Past and Scribblenauts derailed mine. Glad I'm not the only one

Finished three, given up one (due to unplayable format :( ), I don't know if I will be able to get through this, but I'll certainly keep trying.
