I'm thankful that I got to experience gaming the "old" way. I think cell phones and tablets have taken away a lot of the magic. In addition, I believe that the newest generation of gamers are missing out on far better experiences that you'd find on a traditional, dedicated home or portable console.RyaNtheSlayA wrote: It hit me that this is how a large sum of children are experience games and becoming gamers. Not in front of small TVs in dimly lit rooms with a pillow on the floor. Not in stores playing demo units. Nope. They're sitting on the couch with these magical handheld devices. They know the older core devices exist but they don't seem to care ( although he wants a Wii U because it has Mario and a tablet so he can use it while his parents watch TV funnily enough). It's weird to me and probably the first thing that has made me feel old. It only gets worse doesn't it?

SNES games were always expensive. $60-80 in the early 90's. Gamers today are soft.Erik_Twice wrote:You forgot "Expensive SNES games"TSTR wrote:the future is

I think people often forget this fact. Adjusting for inflation, buying a $60 SNES game in 1994 is equivalent to paying $96.13 for a game today.MrPopo wrote:SNES games were always expensive. $60-80 in the early 90's. Gamers today are soft.

So when I bought Faceball 2000 for $40 in late '94.......prfsnl_gmr wrote:I think people often forget this fact. It's $64 in 2014.
Something to think about when you see those expensive SNES games.
