^you can always do what I do and stick with a super outdated version for as long as humanly possibleMichi wrote:: It's about time for me to update my Adobe programs, but I'm torn on what to do. For my current programs, an upgrade is going to cost me around $950, assuming I upgrade by the end of the year. After that, Adobe is changing their policy so that you can only upgrade if you have the previous version. Anything earlier and you have to buy new, which very much sucks.
However, upgrading from the previous version is still going to run around $750, assuming that you ignore any X.5 versions and Adobe doesn't drastically change their pricing. To add to that, the suite I need is going to run somewhere around $1,500-1,800, I'm going to need a new computer soon, and I'm not sure when the new version is coming out (and if it ends up coming out next year, I'll end up spending about the same amount anyway), and I'm starting to think that I should just wait till next year. That way I can save up a little more, buy it new, and then worry about upgrading from there.
Dear god I wish I still qualified for the Student Teacher editions.....

Smile: Dsheinem is about 30 miles away from my home and we were planning on a meet up.
Frown: Didn't come to fruition because of conflicting schedules. Had I checked my pm box an hour earlier he and I would be sipping coffee and discussing the charity auction.
Smile: Out of the office all day, so I can goof off.

Same. I used Photoshop 6 from 02 until earlier this year when I upgraded to CS5. The only thing I will need to update is Premier - CS5 doesnt play too well with AVCHD files on my PC (Vegas does fine, but Premier stutters badly), but I will wait as long as I can before I do that. Really it comes down to if I buy a new camera next year.AppleQueso wrote:^you can always do what I do and stick with a super outdated version for as long as humanly possibleMichi wrote:: It's about time for me to update my Adobe programs, but I'm torn on what to do. Ticked - in three trainings at once, in two different states...
Smiled - atleast I get them all done in one crazy day.
