I thought the game gives priority to the player who leveled up the Gym, but not this time. As soon as I exited the battle screen, I found that some jerk had snuck his pokemon into the gym I leveled up.

The only time you get priority in gym placement is when you take down an opposing team's gym. Training one up a level is no guarantee you'll be able to put one in.

Speaking of gyms, as soon as I finished my post last night, my longest gym stint came to an end, as the Flareon I had put in along Valor Road was taken out on a 2-level gym attack.

That was the gym when I put it in, on September 10 of last year. A simple drop in. Eventually that gym became Level 10. It lasted for 149 days! Note the CP of 1651. This was before they gave certain Pokémon CP increases, so when I got it back last night, it was bumped up to 1814. I powered it up to the maximum level cap, and returned there today. I also renamed it.

Now it's at 2386CP and 2nd from the top. I expect a much longer stint out of it now!!!!!

I also finally evolved a Parasect with Solarbeam. It's been a good day!

Valentines event starts today - double candy, higher spawn rates of pink pokémon, higher chance of pink baby pokémon hatching from eggs. Lure modules last 6 hours instead of 30 minutes. Lasts from the 8th to the 15th.


This is a fairly promising event, and I might actually get back to playing for a while whilst it's on. The double candies should be enough for me to at least get Ninetales and Muk, and many of the pokémon I'm still missing are pink (Lickitung, Chansey, Igglybuff, Cleffa, Smoochum).

Maybe 6 hour lure points will secure me a Snorlax at last too. I can but hope.

Of course I have all those Gen 2s that we're gonna see more of, but I'm all right with more Chansey and Clefable, and of course the double candy from all activities, so pick yourself a good buddy! I also have 2 more 10km eggs, one ready to go in the next day or two, and one I'll get on soon.

I've got a nearly perfect chancey I egged last year, beyond that, no idea but I haven't had much pink stuff in general outside of one good lickitung and a solid wigglytuff.

Thanks for reminding me. I almost lost my bonus train for the day, just rolled the car around inside the neighborhood here as there's 2 spots. Oddly got my 2nd spotting of a wild chancey ever, got it, it was crap, but yay candy for my amazing one.

Egg popped, another poliwag, candied me up so I could evolve a notch better to a poliwrath.

That's been my day. I've got 2 more Exeggutors for my squad on Valor. I've powered them up so much and burned around 100-120k in dust, but these will be fantastic because their stats are great and I finally got my first one with Seed Bomb in months. I also finally found my first Koffing today!

Of interest was a Kingler I evoved from a Krabby over 1000CP. Whatever gets in the gyms!

As of this afternoon, a record 20 gyms! (down to 18 as of this update)

Finally, a Pinsir in a 10km egg -_- But I have another one!

I saw a Lickitung too, but when I clicked it the phone gave me an error message and it disappeared. As this is one of the 2 I'm actually looking for, I was quite sad.
