Ultima and Wizardry are more or less where a lot of the still-used elements of CRPGs originated. Ultima was (I think) the first to start trying to tell more than a barebones story, incorporate morality systems, use party combat, and so on.

Complex open world RPGs with a lot of freedom of moral choice plus intimate detail in the environments with high interactivity. Not everyone was a fan of the skewed isometric viewpoints, or having to play as a "virtuous avatar".
I'm a Resident Evil virgin. I once owned RE4 on the Wii but got rid of it. A few years have gone by, I think it's a game I can play now. I just picked up RE4 and REmake on the Wii. Which one should I play first? Or does it not really matter?

well those are prob the best 2 in the series. If you want to play a "real" RE game, play REmake. If you want to play an RE action game, play RE4. They're both great though. I'd personally recommend doing 1 then 4.
