Can you not go fishing yourself? Just curious. If I want to eat fish, I usually go fishing, lol.elmagicochrisg wrote:![]()

Whats wrong with Aquaculture? The salmon Ive gotten from it in the past have tasted fine (though I am rubbish at smoking it). I am very curious since I am about to start an aquaponic system and have to start with tilapia, but will hopefully be able to swap it out to salmon in the next few years.elmagicochrisg wrote:![]()

Tilapia. The place kicker of fish.fastbilly1 wrote:...I am about to start an aquaponic system and have to start with tilapia...
Too many fish together in a small basin pumped full of antibiotics swimming in their own shit.fastbilly1 wrote:Whats wrong with Aquaculture?
I think mercury should be the least of your worries...Luke wrote:Which has less mercury: Atlantic, Pacific, or Farm raised salmon?

Makes sense. They want feeders first to help maintain cleanliness, I hope. I don't mind tilapia as a filler for say fish tacos, but way too muddy tasting to grill whole.fastbilly1 wrote:I feel the same way, but TN state law mandates the system must be started with Tilapia or Catfish. And Tilapia are alot more hardy in aquaponics than Catfish here.
and a very, very broken economy.elmagicochrisg wrote: Reduce the world's population to half what it is today and the world would be a better place...
