What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I decided I'd go with a little independent horror from the 1970s, so today I watched Phantasm. Weird movie. So much of the film doesn't give any explanation, some of the plot is just plain weird, and some of the logic jumps astound me. But I couldn't help but like this film, and I mean really like it. Perhaps it's that the main characters aren't complete idiots, choosing to arm themselves almost immediately with the heaviest firepower they can wield. Plus, the little guy's practically MacGyver. The "twist" at the end might explain some of their capability though. Odd, but pretty cool.

I love Pete and Pete! One of my favorites shows growing up right along with Salute Your Shorts.vejita wrote:Saw Anchorman again last night- funniest Will Ferrell movie I've ever seen. Also, I saw the DVD advertisement for Freaks and Geeks on the disc and I remembered it was out along with The Adventures of Pete and Pete...
I can't get into anchorman or a lot of Ferrell's movies. My friends all love that movie and quote it constantly, but to me it just seems like all of the humor is forced. Strangely enough, I have similar feelings regarding to the humor of Talladega (sp?) Nights, but I LOVE that movie. I guess I am very picky with comedy. I much prefer horror and sci-fi and can watch even the worst of the genre and still enjoy myself.

Watched the new Green Lantern: First In Flight animated movie last night. Both the wife and I liked it. Unlike other super-hero movies it didn't spend most of the time with the origin, instead it touched on it and moved right into the plot.
This is a must for any Sci Fi fan, comic book fan, or just action fan. It was by far the best DC animated movies since Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Watched A Simple Plan. Billy Bob was great as usual. Not the most original exposition on greed, but it was well acted and kept me glued.

So... I saw that Dragonball movie and... I didn't expect much and therefore got more than I expected.
But it's just a rental.

No. Legend of Chun-Li is this gen's Street Fighter, and the latter was rather great.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Yeah, it's this decade's Street Fighter.REPO Man wrote:So... I saw that Dragonball movie and... I didn't expect much and therefore got more than I expected.

The Whole Wide World.

Watched Coraline again... I feel gipped on the DVD extras. I really wanted to see a "making of" special or "behind the scenes" and such, but no. The rental I got included the 2D or 3D release and a commentary track from the director and composer. The really cool stuff is limited to the BluRay Hi-Def release... dangit.
