Yes, how dare people try to maintain some ownership over the things they produce.
It's that they go too far, not that they do it at all.

I don't think copyright is a right. To claim ownership of something like a drawing seems strange too me. It's owning something nonphysical. It's an idea. Ideas are nearly impossible to control after others have seen or heard them.

I don't think it's all bad that companies and individuals are granted some rights regarding their works, but the rights should not be viewed as basic human rights. The "rights" should be thought of as a contrivance put in place by the government to create just enough incentive for companies to produce something.

Currently, copyright provides more incentive than it needs too. It's too long. Anti-circumvention provisions are excessive. It gives too much control over derivative works.

All my opinion of course.
Arguing the length of copyright is very different from what you originally posted. The thing is that copyright doesn't protect an idea, it protects the presentation of an idea. Similarly patents protect the implementation of an idea. You're right that you can't protect an idea, but you can protect others from doing exactly what you've already done. There are limitations built into the system, but I think a very real case can be made for the lengths of copyright being too long.

from Kotaku:

Sony, along with several other big companies, has recently tried to institute a "no sue" clause in the terms of service agreements for its consoles.

To oppose this, some people are, yes, trying to sue them over their "no sue" agreements.

According to a report on GameSpot, a man in Northern California is leading a suit, filed in November, which alleges "Sony engaged in unfair business practices by forcing consumers to either give up their right to file a class-action lawsuit or give up access to the online gaming network they effectively paid for when they purchased the hardware."

While this sounds a little crazy, remember, the legality of these "no sue" agreements is highly questionable, given they seemingly strip away many Americans legal rights, so he may just have a case.

I don't think it sounds crazy at all. If someone feels like their rights are being unfairly taken away, they should be able to sue.

I'm really happy to hear that Sony is being sued for trying to take away their customers' rights to sue. Good luck to them! Fuck you, Sony.

I know that, and that's what I actually do. But if you do use their service, the above statement is true.
