It's a totally awesome hidden gem of a fighter! I would love an excuse to play this game for a month.

I imported it for my Saturn for about $15 bucks. There is also a superior arcade version that can be played on MAME.

how easy/cheap is it to get on multiple platforms if you don't want to pirate?

Importing on the Saturn is the way to go without playing the arcade version via MAME. I saw quite a few copies up on eBay when I got mine. It sold for $15 to $20 on average at the time.

so then it's technically available for one system as an import only?

looking at ebay now, they range for $20-$60 if you "buy now." That being said, it's also reliant upon having a Saturn that's capable of playing imorts.

I'm sure someone will say "well we can play it via MAME," but not all of us are into emulation and downloading ROMS. Just my two cents...

I know Contra is a shooter, but it's a run n gun. I'd love to do a shmup, like Darius, Gradius, Ikaruga, or something I've never even heard of that's similar...

I am going to veto Waku Waku 7 since it is an import Saturn and Arcade only title.
Clayfighter is rumored to have its new title released this Summer and is released on the SNES, Genesis, and Wii VC.
Street Fighter III is Arcade, Dreamcast, PS2, and Xbox title.

Right now I am leaning toward SFIII but it is really up to yall.

And we can do a traditional shooter. Im a fan of verts, but wouldnt mind learning more about horis. Lifeforce/Salamander sound good to yall? It is Arcade, NES/Fami, Commodore 64, MSX, PCEngine, Spectrum, Saturn (import), PSX, PSP, and Wii.
