Once again I'm retarded. I just checked my HLTB records, and I saw that I have indeed beaten some GameCube games this year:

XG3: Extreme G Racing / Feb 18, 2016
Bloody Roar: Primal Fury / Feb 17, 2016
Kirby Air Ride / Feb 17, 2016
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! / Feb 17, 2016

I just forgot to update this thread when I beat those GC games back in February.
So my gaming resolution goals should actually look like...

Exhuminator's 2016 goals:

1. Beat at least two more Vita games.
2. Beat at least three 3DS games.
3. Finish the rest of From Software's first person dungeon crawls.
4. Beat Front Mission 5.
5. Beat at least two GameCube games.

Herp a derp. I'm still gonna beat some more GameCube games anyway, as well as another Xbox one. I want to play these systems before my dork cave is temporarily out of commission and I'm stuck with handhelds for a bit.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

That's the version I plan to hit up haha.

We're 3/4 through the year already!
alienjesus wrote:1. Focus my buying by using a list of my most wanted games for each platform, instead of just buying things as and when I think about it.
Not done too great at this.

2. For every series I own 2 or more unbeaten games for, beat at least 1 game in that series. As of the start of January, this includes:
Age of Empires Nope
Atelier Working on it
Danganronpa Nope
Dragon Quest Yup!
Fire Emblem Working on it
Final Fantasy Nope
Harvest Moon Nope
Kingdom Hearts Nope
Mario & Luigi Nope
Mario Golf Nope
Prinny Nope
Shinobi Nope
Sonic the Hedgehog Yes
Valis Yup!
Wave Race Nope
Ys Yup!
Zelda Yup!

Lots to do on this one still

3. Beat at least one game for every major console I own. Exceptions for more obscure consoles like Pokemon Mini.
So far: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Game Boy, GBA, DS, 3DS, Mega Drive, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, Vita, PS1, PS3, PC Engine, NGPC Virtual Boy
To go: Wii, Wii U, GBC, SMS, Game Gear, PS2, PS4, PSP, 3DO, PC, Pokémon Mini

4. Finish the year with less unbeaten games than I started the year with. This isn't a big objective necessarily, but I plan on buying quite a lot this year, so it'll require me to finish quite a lot of stuff.
Yeah, this isn't even possible at this stage.

5. Try and keep my game spending to less than £100 on average per month.
Nope.

Well I looked at my goals and I achieved every one of them
Got my game room set
Got the everdrive a for the n64, snes, and Genesis
As far Asm's getting a arcade stick for the ps2, well I got a modded Xbox with coinops 7 massive installed and I own a midway 12 in 1 arcade cab so I think that makes it up for that.
Now for next year I want a minibar arcade cab with a raspberry pi installed. It's one last thing I want for my room.

darsparx wrote:1.) Finish casing up my games, still need a slicer for this not doing well on this one just because of work injury and school preventing from even coming close
2.) finish way more games than I have. I think I've completed a grand total of 5 this year. I will try to go for at least 10(may include ff1 on this but that's debatable since I want to take some time and either complete some short games or more hybrid genre ones or heck something like NFS on gamecube since that one had a real story mode and what I played at my cousins house was awesome...I've just got to get out of this gaming rut I've been in for the past 6 months since the whole ff1 incident) Not doing well on this one either, I've started more games than I've finished and haven't had time due to school and likely won't have much more time to even work on this
3.) Get a receiver and speakers(might need help with suggestions on this one, i've got to get a handle on my budget so I can afford this....or get a better job so I have more left over to save for this)definitely not happening, work injury and school so blech
4.) Once I ever get shelves setup in my room and everything set up a charging dock of some sort with cords I can pull out or something for all my portables and controllers(especially the ps3 controller because that's unbearable with that cord and I think my cord i bought at gamestop if I've found the right one doesn't really work anymore...and i need something with a longer cord or just a new controller that doesn't require some weird handoff to work)semi done this, not proud of my progress and the way I'm having to do it especially since my mom won't let me get my shelves hung for this, it would seriously help though since i can't have a nightstand because of my bed...
I'm trying to get better at this, but I guess until I get done with school and find a job I won't be able to tackle many of these going forward. I'll be aiming for games in my collection that are either short or make it easy to save and quit and pick up where i left off(or be abusing my r5...don't know at this point). So many papers, and other assignments blech...going to try to at least aim for taking weekends off from working on anything school related unless it's towards my portfolio I need to get off the ground...
My gameroom
My systems: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, original gba, gba sp(001), ds lite, 3ds, vita, psp, PSone(101 model) ps2, ps3(320gb model), ps4, retron 5, and Dreamcast.

I am proud apathetic to say that I have completely a grand total of zero of these goals.

I'm debating whether to keep going with Trails of Cold Steel on my Vita or play Fatal Frame 3 tonight and tomorrow. I reckon I can have it beat by Wednesday if I'm diligent and start today. Idk, though, cause it's KILLING me having Superdimension Neptunia sitting on my shelf but not playing it because I haven't finished Trails of Cold Steel yet.

PartridgeSenpai wrote:My main goal comes down to playing more and buying less. I'm doing okay lately, but over the past couple years I developed the habit of buying games and never even playing them, let alone beating them. I'm okay with not finishing a game I've lost interest in or that isn't engaging enough, but as long as I play them long enough to get an opinion on them.
I'm not sure I've done that great on buying less, but I'm certainly selling much more, which is just as good in my book. I'm not too sure how many physical games I had at the start of the year, but I've done a very good job at slimming down what I have. I'm down to just 770-ish physical games, with then another 3 or 400 in digital titles. It still sounds like a lot to say out loud, but it's certainly on the lower end compared to a lot of folks on here Xp

Still kinda hovering on being okay with just setting aside/abandoning a game I'm not enthralled with though. Was pretty set on beating all 3 version of FE:Fates, but after finishing Conquest, which I like A LOT, I'm having a hard time going through Revelations (I also have like no time to play games lately, which may be factoring into it). Perhaps it will be like with Tales of Symphonia where I just put it down and then finish it off six months from now ;P

I wonder what you'll think of Fatal Frame 3. I never see anyone ever talk about it. I couldn't finish it... it wasn't bad, but the pacing was not great. Very comparable to Silent Hill 4 with you going back and forth between some kind of hub/home-esque area then back to the main level(s). While I got over that with Silent Hill 4 because of its amazing story and everything else, Fatal Frame 3 didn't fully pull me in enough.
